Don't worry about credits - they aren't usually processed until the very end of your campaign - just underpay in future, and then when you have swapped onto the next campaign your balance wil be showing as zero as the credit for your returns would have been deducted.

So yes, this time, it will mean you balance for next time is less.

Quick question as a newbie - customers pay on delivery: what happens if they don't and Avon invoice needs paying? Can I return those products back to Avon before paying my invoice? How long do you get to pay your invoice?
Just want to esure my customers pay when I actually deliver the products. Does anyone have any tips of how to encourage payment on that particular day to avoid going back several times? Thanks.
    P.S Betsy89...welcome!

Yep you just return them if you cannot deliver / collect the money for them. You have until your next order is due in to get your balance cleared.

What I do, is deliver a letter a few days before, saying I'm delivering Thursday between 6-8pm, to contact me to rearrange if not suitable - I give home, mobile & email address. Most of my customers are pretty good about letting me know (though its been over a year and a half so they are "trained" now lol). IF they aren't in, they get a calling card through saying I've been, to contact me to rearrange delivery. If they don't contact me, if I have a phone number for them I'll ring about 4 days later. If not, they get a note through asking them to contact me by x date to arrange delivery, and that if I don't hear from them I'll assume they no longer want their order and will return it. Usually means I get them all delivered on the day I want!

  • Hi J-pink, my delivery comes on a Wednesday but I don't actually deliver until a Thursday evening to allow myself time to sort the order out. What I normally do on the Monday evening prior is drop a note around to all my customers thanking them for their order, and that I'll deliver it on xx day, date, between xx - xx pm, the amount and to contact me if their's a problem. I've found that if you 'train' your customers and you do the same every campaign you shouldn't have any problems.

    Hope this helps

I'm obviously not training my customers well enough! One never has my money even though I give advance warning and end up going back several times to get it.

Another...she texted on Wednesday night at 11pm, please deliver Friday evening. OK, Friday evening, standing outside her flat, no answer. Text her, no answer. Goto Sainsbury's, come out and there she is at the traffic lights! I say hello and say I have your avon order! She says oh yes, you were supposed to come today weren't you to deliver it?

    bangs head against brick wall.
  • Another tip to add to the 'how to train your customer' handbook is to try to ensure you collect brochures and deliver orders on the same weekday each campaign. I always collect books from regulars on a monday (although I may deliver it from the tuesday to the friday before) so they know which day to leave it out for. I always deliver orders on a tuesday (del on mondays then burn the midnight oil getting organised). After 4 years most have got the hang of it and even my newbie customers are looking promising!
