  • Thanks all :)
  • Hi All

Just re-signed to Avon after doing it once aobut 5 years ago and have got orders for almost £250 in first week - pleased with that! Didn't think I wanted any territory but realised friends and family only may be hard to sustain book in book out so I took on some streets and am really enjoying canvassing them - much more confident that I had thought I would be and everyones been nice so far even if they don't want to order have only had 3 refusals in 30 houses. I'm getting a 1 in 10 rate on ordering too on my streets - but in 3 orders got £70 of orders so that made it work out o.k. just trying to thing of ways to increase sales - am offering a free mystery gift with orders over £20 and thinking of having a party - is anyone doing that and is anyone buying the £30 'christmas party' kit from Hello Tomorrow - I thought it may be worthwhile as the Herve Ledger perfume alone is worth £20.00 - thought I would also build up a kit by using all the things I am wanting for myself as testers/demos at my party before I use them myself. That way if I don't sell or get orders from them I haven't lost anything. One thing I am wondering about is the creative ordering - I get that you can compare prices in 2 brochures and order where the best deal is but what about offers where a spend over a certain amount carries a free gift - I had a customer spend £7.00 and another £5.00 so qualifying for a £10 or over spend which a free eyes/lips/cheek pencil worth £8 but what if one of the 2 customers wants to return their product - wouldn't Avon expect to have both items and the freebie back?! Also when I was signed up my Sales Leader told me I would have an extension til Sunday to order (so I had books out until today) have now submitted my order - I won't be disqualified from the freebies if I hit the higher sales for being 'late' will I? and another thing my Sales Leader also said (very late in the day) that 1st order limit was £250 - what about subsequent orders are they pretty much unlimited as long as 1st is paid on time - I was very close to the £250 on the 1st order and did that in a week - am hoping that will continue for the next campaign! So many questions....sorry!

Don't worry, your order will count as ontime - your sl wouldn't have let you put it through late as else it wouldn't count for them, you have a couple of days after an order is due in to actually submit it and it's still processed as 'ontime'. For your credit limit - a limit of £250 means you can put about £320 ish through, and your limit increases each time as Avon see that you pay for your order they increase the limit as by expect that your sales will naturally increase in time. Congrats on doing so well! For your territory - keep canvassing, especially now it's the run up to christmas, as people see your reliable and come back for the book they'll start to order.

sorry don't understand the question. Do you want to print your invoice? Goto my account, account orders, order tracking.

Not sure what you mean about adjusting for yourself?
  • Hi, I am a long time lurker- it was this thread that persuaded me to become an 'Avon Lady'... would just like a little advice: I am on my third campaign, the first where i haven't had to order anything to make MOV... (shame i was enjoying trying out all those products)-two more orders to collect, i think i'm on my way to HOV yay!!!
well, the financial side of it is confusing- I know it makes sense to have a seperate bank account for Avon payments (the last couple of campaigns are confused as i have been paying out of and into our joint main account...) but do you need to have a business account? when ever i look online, they want to charge you for everything you do, except one bank, and when i look at the online application, it's asking me if i am a sole trader, and what my registration number is (I have no idea) i am about to register with HMRC- so is it that number....? what is a sole trader?
will a personal bank account suffice, or will the banks get upset with me...?

No you don't need a business account at all, don't worry! I just pay our money into OH old bank account that he doesn't use as his current account to keep it separate. You could always just pay at the post office / hsbc if you might find that easier, yes you'll have to pay 50p to do it that way, but if you'll find it easier then could be worth it.

I went to Lloyds and asked to open a basic account purely for using for my Avon account, I had an interview and it was all set up. It gives me a debit card so I can pay online and save my 50ps. You can do internet banking, you get a cheque book.

Natwest do a solo basic account. So no, don't ask for a business account, just tell them you want to open a basic account, with a debit card and use that.
  • thank you lozza and aureol, i just need to get off my backside and sort that out now, though with a 19month old and a part time job...
DS loves canvassing- he gets to flirt with lots of ladies who all tell him how gorgeous he is!! (and the buggy is great for hauling the brochures around) I'm still trying to get the hang of Avon connects, and am sooooo lonely with no friends as i can't figure out how to add anyone- so if anybody wants to help out a lonely rep, i'm emqt (aka em sherriff) please please add me, i'm really quiet and you wouldn't even notice i was there....! (would add embarrassed smiley, but they're ashamed of me and have hidden themselves somewhere... lol)
  • can you sell avon stuff on ebay?
Shut up woman get on my horse!!!
