  • Hey

what would happen if a customer ordered an outspoken perfume and pendent which is on offer for £5 if bought with the perfume, but then wanted to send just the perfume back? Would they get to keep the pendent for £5?

They shouldn't, and if you let them they might do it again. There's nothing in it for you that way either. But, in answer to your question, Avon aren't likely to chase you for it.

carlys87, I wouldn't encourage the customer to do this, like !!!!!! Here says, you have to give the customer a full refund for the perfume, you only get credited your avon price for it, and you aren't going to make much discount on a £5 pendant, so you are the one losing out, not the customer.

There are people who sell things on ebay, as you will find if you look on ebay under Avon goods. It could be excess stock or things they have bought and don't like...etc, etc.

Yeah you can sell on ebay - but once you've taken into account the ebay & paypal fees you're unlikely to make any profit, and be lucky to cover your costs. I usually check rather than return (un-used) items, and usually end up sending them back to avon as can't even cover the cost price on ebay.

  • OK to ask you helpful posters for some advice?

Right, well I started Campaign 15 two weeks ago - order date is tomorrow. My SL has been over and given me 40 Campaign 16 brochures. I have 17 Campaign 15 brochures left.

First question, SL said to give the campaign 16 brochures out after tomorrow, so I guess that's because it's the order date for Campaign 15 tomorrow?

Second question, I have covered about half my territory with brochure 15, so how should I go about distributing now? Is it OK to give the Campaign 15 brochures out tomorrow, to the houses I haven't done yet, then the Campaign 16 brochures, or do I need to give the Campaign 16 brochures out to the houses I've already done? It just seems a bit soon to be giving them new brochures, as I only collected the Campaign 15 ones a week and a half ago.

Hope you understand this garbled post, not sure I do :D
  • Hmmm...been pondering things today and wondering if all this effort is really worth it for such little comeback. I am generally making about £100 a campaign (which takes into account brochures and other things I order directly from Avon), but then you have to take off NIC at £10ish a month, paper and ink for printing all the garb every time, brochure bags (not from Avon). I am probably doing a little bit of Avon linked stuff every day. And to top it off, Avon itself always feels like it is trying to get one over on it's reps and you really have to watch your backs and look out for yourself (and you lot of course :)) Is it all REALLY worth it??? Sorry for the downer guys, I am sure I will feel better tomorrow when my order arrives :o

yes, you can give out C16 from tomorrow, as you will be on C16 from then.

However, yes, you can use your C15 brochures for the territory you didn't cover, this is called backordering and a very good usage of your previous campaign's books.

You should give the C16 brochures to the houses you have already done. It doesn't matter if it was only a week and a half ago. You might want to give the C16 with the order form to those that have ordered, so they can see what they have ordered, amount due, and maybe when you go to deliver their order, they will have another order ready for you.

Or you could wait till you have your delivery and are going to deliver their order to give them the C16 book.

Don't worry, I had a customer say to me on Saturday, she had forgotten what she had ordered as it had been so long. It was about 3 weeks from her ordering, to delivery.

sylvergrunge, I go through these phases when I think about giving it all up. But since working part time I am grateful for any extra money I make from Avon, it helps with the bills :), so even when I feel like... oh gosh, got to sit and prep and get those books out... etc, etc, I think about the extra money that will pay another bill and carry on.
  • thank you lozza and aureol, i just need to get off my backside and sort that out now, though with a 19month old and a part time job...
DS loves canvassing- he gets to flirt with lots of ladies who all tell him how gorgeous he is!! (and the buggy is great for hauling the brochures around) I'm still trying to get the hang of Avon connects, and am sooooo lonely with no friends as i can't figure out how to add anyone- so if anybody wants to help out a lonely rep, i'm emqt (aka em sherriff) please please add me, i'm really quiet and you wouldn't even notice i was there....! (would add embarrassed smiley, but they're ashamed of me and have hidden themselves somewhere... lol)

    Hi Em & welcome

Can't help with the Avon Connects question I'm afraid as having just stopped doing Avon, I haven't bothered getting to grips with it, so for what it's worth I'm friendless too :D

You don't immediately see the smileys if you do a 'quick reply' - you have to click on the 'go advanced' tab or click 'reply' under the posts.

Every so often, a smiley will go missing - we used to have a 'confused' one, but that has gone somewhere

Hope it goes well for you.
