You are given 20 books in your first campaign and 20 in your next. Sometimes if your SL/ASM has spare books they may give you more for the first 2 campaigns.
ASMs allocate territory, so for your SL to only give you a few streets is right, and then when your ASM is back, she can check what else is available and give it to you.0 -

I have approx 60 house and 20 books, of which F+F have taken 5.
I have organised a rotation on the houses given, but afraid I will struggle, if I don't get my full lot back
Don't worry if you don't get around your whole territory with whatever books you have left. You can use whatever books you have left to canvass the territory you didn't get around to doing, even after you have submitted your order.
This is called backordering.
For example:
Given C14 books and your order has to be in on 10 September.
you canvass as much of your territory as you can and submit order on 10 September. You didn't canvass 20 houses.
Given C15 books and your order has to be in on 8 October.
You give C15 books to the customers who have seen C14 books. You give C14 books to the 20 houses that didn't see it the first time.
You submit any orders from your C15 and C14 books on the 8 October
Then the 20 houses who last saw C14, get to see C15 after 8 October.0 -

Little update from meOrder goes in on wednesday (but will do it tuesday) and i have hit the £200 mark!:j
Little question, i have found it very difficult to canvas my whole area with so few books (i had about 30 and have over 100 houses, work full time, have been distributing and collecting every other day).... can i order a pack of books even though it'll only be my 2nd campaign, just to add to the ones my asm will give me??0 -

I suspect Avon Connects will partially render Territory allocation redundant, any potential customer will be able to choose their preferred Rep online (out of those in the same postcode). I don't see why Avon would mind - it earns them more money! When I put in my first order (C14) the option was there on the form to get C15 books.
But before you go spending on extra ones you could always ask if they have some spares so you can put some customers on backorder. For example, when the SL came over to take me through the online ordering system I mentioned that I'd lost a few books due to rain/not being left out and they went out to their car and gave me a load more brochures for free. They had no use for them anymore (or maybe thought it was a worthwhile investment to give them to me for free). So I took these C14 brochures and have been using them to canvas streets that will now be my "backorder streets" during C15.
I'm going to be cheeky and ask if they could do that with some C15 brochures because I only had 20 and once my backorder streets are on C15 I think I'll struggle to get brochures to all of them.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

hmm interesting concept.....
I can understand any customer choosing a rep that is nearest to them, etc but surely ASMs should still be able to allocate territory. Because someone on that road who already has a rep would just say no thank you?
I had a lady on my territory say she buys from another rep, so I just put her down as a no thank you.0 -

well done on your first order
Yes you can order more books, entirely upto you. You aren't expected to get around your whole territory with just 20 books, just as much as you can.
You eventually get into a routine where you know who doesn't want books and who does, and you may not cover all your territory with one campaign book, but have half on a back campaign and half on a forward campaign.
I personally, but have been doing Avon for a year and a half, have my regular customers on the current campaign, territory on back campaign and new customers on back campaign. As if they don't order regularly, don't want to lose books I could be using.0 -

I was reading through the stuff they've put online and noticed the criteria reps have to meet to be put in the "customer leads" directory. See here (page 3): http://www.avon.uk.com/REPSuite/static/pdf/opt_in_for_customer_leads.pdf
"Have sales activity of £500 or more in the last 3 campaigns" seemed a bit unfair to me. Reps with less than £500 over 3 campaigns would surely appreciate customer leads. Also, you could be hovering around the £500 mark and find yourself going onto the customer leads database, then coming off it if your sales dip, then going back on again next time you're over £500. It works out at £166.66p per campaign, which I see a lot of people on here regularly go over so I know it's not a completely unrealistic target. It just seemed to exclude the reps who would need customer leads just as much (if not more) than those who have high sales already. Plus, a customer might end up with a rep who lives a couple of miles away rather than one on their street.
You could argue that the rep on their street should be re-canvassing, but the customer might change their mind about Avon between canvases. If the rep doesn't appear on the list the customer would assume they've stopped doing it. Unless the customer knows you're still doing Avon, knows where you live, and knocks to ask for a brochure, they may just find the customer leads database easier and choose a rep further away.
Personally, I'm not concerned at the moment with finding customer leads outside my territory because it's quite a big one as it is. I'm more worried that customers inside my territory will go on the database and get a different rep. I'll be re-canvassing in late Feb (give people's finances a chance to recover after Christmas), and I plan to re-canvas every 6 months or when I see an empty house occupied. Hopefully that should be enough to pick up new customers before they go online.
Anyone know what Length of Association is? Is it like degrees of separation? Thanks.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
