Hi,
I've started with Avon again in Camp 13, did it about a year ago but work decided that my role became a slave overnight and I couldn't keep up with it. Glad to be back at it again.
I'm looking at doing parties...has anyone got any experiences etc.?
As well as, any tips on boosting sales, I live in a small village and I have half of the village and another Avon lady has the other but my end is pensioner bungalow one after another and most of them chase me down their drive saying they don't want a book so that's dropped me a god 15 houses!!!
Thanks all!!

Out of stock items DO NOT go towards your award sales for incentives/PC targets anymore unfortunetly some people abused it!
Not sure it counts for MOV/HOV either - but cant verify this as i rarely place orders close enough to the mov/hov for oos to cause a problem with it.
There is a good eye lift deal on page 66 of the HT 17 clearance has a set that includes a full size eye lift for £4.50 plus 2 other current brochure products and one old packaging product.
Some scope for some extra money making there (or creative returns:shocked: ) But if ordering from clearance there is always a chance the item wont turn up so if fulfilling an order i always usually order it from the book too - just incase! Then return it if not needed anymore

Thats my first order sent, grand total of £207, im quite please with myself. So straight on to the next campaign, got the books out today with special offer of spend £10 get a free gift, hoping that it should attract a few more customers.
For the pamper night next month we have agrred that I shall provide free sample on the night and put out my books and order forms, means I dont have to go to too much expense ordering stuff when not sure what people will buy. Should be good for network and letting people know that I am a Avon rep. Just wait for my cards from Vistaprint to arrive.CC1-1097.69 CC2-1710.65CC3-2163.88 CC4- 50000 -
BTW can one the SL PM me the details about becoming a sales leader? i.e. how it works. Dont understand the diagram in HT17 about exactly how the bonuses work.
When i last asked my asm about it her reply was:
"you can be a trainee Sales Leader for now if you sign 3 new people you will get £30 and they will stay in your team for as long as but you will not get any %. If you sign 5 in three campaigns it would be worth becoming a sales Leader as you would get £80 fast start plus % and you don't have to sign any one else till your ready hope this is clear"
Is this still the case? And is it still £25 to become a sales leader?0 -
Yes it did occur to me how easy it would be to abuse!!
I think it was stopped when the website started displaying the ticks etc, or else people would immediately order OoS items in bulk for that reason. You now get the value counting towards PC when you actually get any item that's initially OoS rather than when you order it.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Will email you some info this weekend (at work at the mo) - but the good thing about these new bonuses is that they aren't time restricted as much as they used to be. It used to be as your asm said - but not sure about the new system, will need to double check for you. Think you still get some bonuses even if it takes you ages to get reach 5 reps.
Yes its still £25 to become a sales leader, and they do a more in depth credit check, as we're (in theory!) ordering a lot of books which aren't charged for 2 campaigns (so that by the time we're charged for them, we should be refunded by avon for a new rep placing an order). WE only get refunded for 40 books & one appointment pack (£5 something) when they place a first order of at least £78 - if they don't order, or they order below this (it happens!), then we're out of pocket for books.
Having said that - I wouldn't still be a sales leader if I didn't enjoy it (especially with working full time, if I hated it that much I wouldn't put myself through it lol) - yes you'll get people messing you around, but then you'll meet some lovely people which makes it worthwhile! Once you've got a stable team of 5 then its much easier to, as at least you'll earn a little from their sales, even if it isn't much. Its up to you how quickly you build you team - I've been slowly plodding away over the last year, putting more effort into finding new reps now (wedding costing more than we thought lol) and with my new fab asm this should be a lot easier!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Just thought I'd say Hi, I'm from Stourbridge in the West Midlands and joined Avon today as a rep and already have 3 orders, with 2 more on the way:j
I've decided at the moment i'll just sell to family, friends and work as I've got a full-time job, then will see how it goes. Read alot of the thread which have found extremely usefull but any hints or tips you feel a newbie needs to know please drop them my way0 -

Hi and welcome!Great idea is to get your friends/family help you - my Mum takes a book into work and her boss orders from me - I deliver the order to my Mum (she pays me for it), then she takes the order into work and her boss pays her for it. No chance of my Mum being out of pocket as if she couldn't deliver the order she knows I can return it & give her her money back. You'll find people (especially close family/friends) will be more than happy to help - you can always offer them a free gift everytime they get you an order in, doesn't need to be anything expensive. Afterall they've earned you money by getting you extra orders so overall you are better off
I work full time too - doing a territory doesn't necessarily need to take that much time, see how you get on with friends & family, get the hang of checking your delivery & getting it bagged up (took me ages to start with)...then if you decide to take on a territory it won't add to much extra time on. Depends on how well you do with friends/family and how much extra money you want to make. I don't live that locally to my family - & MIL is a rep so obviously no orders from her anymore lol, so I get most of my orders from territory, then just my mum, her boss, occaisionaly my sister (shes always broke bless her), and a few from work. It takes time, but even at your workplace you'll gradually get new customers - ask everyone no matter how unlikely...I asked one of the cleaners, and now both of them order from me - even though there is an avon lady working in the canteen, she never offered a book to them so they didn't ask her for one even though they knew she sold avon.:pAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
how many brochures are you supposed to get for your first campaign? and how many houses do you usually get?
I have approx 60 house and 20 books, of which F+F have taken 5.
I have organised a rotation on the houses given, but afraid I will struggle, if I don't get my full lot backThe sign of a wasted life is a tidy house, Welcome to the chaos!0
