With the "find me a rep" thing I believe this will be solved by Avon Connects, so we can just advise a customer to register on the site and supply their details, and they will be given details of their local rep.

Sounds good eh? Hope that's how it works in practice. Have had instruction from my ASM to complete the online training by Tuesday so I'm guessing that's launch day? !! Can't wait to see what its like and how I'll be able to use it for my customers.

Rumour has it also that next year Avon are planning an online brochure which you'll be able to send to your customers, they can order from online, and the order will go directly on to your order. Hopefully you also get a summary so you know who's ordered what.

Thanks, CG; had forgotten all about Avon Connects. Looks like this is the 'modern' way of ensuring Avon don't lose all their customers when a rep leaves.

Am not a great fan of Face Book but assume this is going to be Avon's own version rather than their page on FB. Just wondering, will subscribers to this thread be using the same usernames on here - seems logical to me - or is there a downside to doing that? (Sorry, if that's a really stupid question and the answer is obvious.... )

Don't get disheartened, DB. Sometimes people don't actually put their books out because they either want to query something with you or they're wanting to double-check something before they complete their order. I usually collect books on a Tuesday; had to go back Thursday for 4 books and they all had orders in. :T

Good idea to make sure you drop a note in to say that you've called and will call again on .............. to collect their book/order. They then know you're on the ball, are reliable (and sometimes they feel guilty at you having to go back so they order something anyway just to salve their conscience). ;)
Thank you. One lady left out the book I wanted from last time so I suppose she tried lol. Im going to go ask her for the new book tomorrow. I left the avon calling cards so hopefully some will have if not I will keep knocking as that will be half my books gone for the rest of my area.

My thought is if we started a new thread (and link it if poss), we could include a Poll with up to 10 questions. We could then 'vote' for which area we're in so at least people could use that as a route to find a rep and/or SL or see if there's likely to be one anywhere near without having to trawl through all our chatty posts....

Would that work do you reckon or would that also be contravening the T&C's?

PS: If needs be it could be worded as a sort of survey i.e. to see which areas are more popular or something. As usual, am not 'quite there' but as in the past thought if I suggested 'a start' then other brains more astute than mine could tweek it so it's helpful to us all without contravening the T&C's..... maybe......?

If it does, I'm sure there will be a wiley fox lurking ready to put us right :p

    Hi all!

I'm a new rep so I thought I'd come and introduce myself! I've been studying this thread (and its predecessors!) and the wealth of information has been amazing Thanks to everyone who's contributed, both by asking questions and answering them. :)

    Now for my own question:

I have my territories all lined up, and my first set of books ready to go out. The patch I have consists mostly of pensioners, and I was wondering if anyone has any tips. Do they tend to order differently? Are there any specific items I should be promoting? Really, I'm just curious as to how I should approach this as I want to make a good first impression.

    Thanks everyone!

    Hi Kynnie and welcome

As a fairly long term rep and A PENSIONER  I'd say we're pretty much the same as everyone else really and like make-up, hair stuff, nice undies etc.

If we're talking about the very elderly (over 80???) then I'd say skin creams, room sprays, shower gels and a personal service as some of the older ladies have lost touch with the more modern make up trends and don't know what to choose.

However, please don't insult me by asking if I've heard of Jay-Z or Black Eyed Peas (as a young colleague did quite recently)........yes!!!! I listen to the radio like everyone else  :rotfl:

Am I alone in thinking that Fergie had changed a lot then? :rotfl:

(It was a customer, who told me who she was i.e. not the 'royal one', and whilst I had heard of the Black Eyed Peas I really wouldn't recognise them if I fell over them, as my Mum/Gran used to say.... )

MC, nice try, but I am sure it will be contravening the rules somehow.

And I am sure there are SLs and Reps who lurk on here, but never identify themselves or only view but don't have an actual log in id.

The only actual way to get around this would be to have a spin off forum ie on proboards and do it that way.

Otherwise I suggest google, twitter or Facebook. ;););)

I think customers will get a choice of Reps to pick one from. So get a nice pic ready, ideally of yourself ;)
