I have this done every 6 months and find it just makes me feel alot better. I tend to eat soup and smoothies for 24 hours before. I admit it feels weird whilst its happening but afterwards it just feels better and flatter tummy. It isnt for everyone, I have had friends say they dont like it so the best thing is to try it well in advance if you are doing it for a specific event. :D

Bleuch. Only put things up your bottom if a doctor tells you to, and then only if he's in a surgery when he tells you.

I've had several in the past and would have it again. It's rather undignified, but utterly facinating!

Makes you feel "clean" somehow, hard to explain

Just order some "bowel prep" - strong laxatives you take before having a colonoscopy. It's cheaper and you can do it in the comfort of your own home!

Can't you die from absorbing too much water though the gut wall from it?

I've had this done twice by a therapist and then bought an enema kit and DIY at home  I wait until OH is going away on a business trip and do them then...lol I've even done coffee enemas (no, not instant)

I find that I get a general feeling of calm and well being afterwards... :D

  • I was reading your post, i am a colonic hydrotherapist and never have any of my clients experienced anything like this, if anything it has always been positive. I would be questioning if the therapist was fully qualified.
