Hydrotherapy can be a GREAT treatment, but please always use a Registered therapist. you can find a list at www.colonic-association.org
Never attempt a DIY version at home, mains water pressure can perforate the bowel.
This is one area where being Money saving may not always be the best approach....beware of clinics offering cheap treatments or packages, there are a lot of horror stories about!

Thanks for that, would prefer to use a registered therapist and found 1 about 12 miles away which isn't too bad would have to drive though & wouldn't want an erm 'accident' on the way home:cool:.

The going rate in my neck of the woods is £75 per session.

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

In a good clinic you will be invited to sit and relax after your session, this gives the bowel time to settle back down and avoid any accidents.

Please be wary of special discounted packages....This is not a 'cheap' treatment either to train in or provide proper sanitary arrangements for. If the clinic is cutting the cost then they may well be cutting corners elsewhere.
The Libbe machines might sound like a great idea...but in effect you are emptying your bowel contents over a bucket, is it any wonder that the therapist is not in the room with you?
ALWAYS choose a therapist from the register at www.colonic-association.org this way you are guaranteed a well trained therapist in an approved clinic.

If so, what benefits did you have from it?

I am seriously considering having this done, but I don't want to waste money and the lack of dignity factor.....if it doesn't actually work
Oh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY

    Hi

I had it a couple of years ago as a last ditch attempt to have a flat tummy in my wedding dress!! It wasn't what I expected, I found it very uncomfortable to have done (not the insertion part, the bit where they squirt the water in!) and my tummy felt decidedly odd for a few days, very windy and unsettled. I wouldn't have it again personally. I guess it depends what you want it for, if it's for IBS then it might help to get things moving!
