You're right BDINI, something like that happening brings you up short and makes you realise that however carp you think your life is, you're so much better with it than without it

So sorry for your loss Webitha - the eldest of our 3 is 14 and feeling her age but not in any pain other than a touch of arhritis and very bad teeth but we dread the day .......

Once when one of our earlier doggies was long-term ill, a friend rightly said that you have to ask yourself whether you are keeping them alive 'cause you don't want to lose them, rather than asking what is best for them - a little while later, I looked at him as he looked at me and I knew it was time. A responsible pet owner knows when the time is right. But it is is hard, especially if they are your only pet. They are a **** nuisance at times, especially having 3 Jack Russels, but we could not be without them. I could not imagine a life without dogs.

Spoon - no NSD for me today as my pre-payment ran out at slimming class and I had to pay tonight. Will pre-pay again afterour hols. But did pop into your favourite store Mr T's for a few bits to see me through till Friday's shop

BeanieLou - Normandy? - we went there with friends in 1996 - stayed in a cottage - it was gorgeous but was expensive in shops - hope you have a great time petal

    Morning all!

Hope you are all well today, (((hugs))) to BDINI and Webitha , what a carp day you had yesterday, hang on in there gals, we're thinking of you! ((( hUGS))) too to all those having a rough time.

Just about to get in the shower, work today and tomorrow, so potential NSD's in prospect.

Mum and Dad back from hols, had a wonderful time in Whitby. They brought me some lovely wee gifts - a notepad organiser thing( for my endless lists) a bag for my knitting made by the local quilters, a Whitby lucky duck and a wee box with a lovely poem.

If you dont mind I'll share it with you, particularly for those who are having a rough time just now :

"This is a very special gift, that you can never see,
The reason that it's special is, it's just for you from me
Whenever you are lonely, or when you're feeling blue
You only need to hold this gift to know I think of you
You never can unwrap it, please leave the ribbon tied
Just hold the box close to your heart,
    It's filled with love inside"

    Have a lovely day everyone!:)

you will always be rich enough to be generous.

Ah Jinty that's a really lovely poem, & what lovely presents!

Am determined to get back on track now or i'll never hit target this month, & have decided i'm no longer going to use the DIY as an excuse to spend money or not eat properly, or drink too much wine etc....
Have also decided i'm definitely not smoking again, my lungs feel like a well used bbq this morning & truthfully they didn't help me cope with feeling upset one little bit, guess it was actually quite stupid to think they would!!

Right the new improved me is going to make a large fruit salad & a sandwich for lunch as am off on (yet another!) training day today...

Hope everyone has a good day!

Can anyone join in? I fancy a go at these NSD's. Could I sign on for one for tomorrow just to see? I might make a bit bigger commitment after that, I don't know yet.

I can't do today because I need to make my debt repayments today, I have already spent £9.36 at Amazon this morning, oh and I am frankly dying for a bar of Cadburys caramel... They sort of get less justifiable as you go along, did you notice? :o

Tomorrow though, I promise I will be good tomorrow, is that acceptable? :o
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(

Got a letter fom Ofsted today....................
    They aren't coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Till at least September 2011 cos they are happy enough with our school = they haven't got enough inspectors or enough time to fit us in this week.

I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo relieved and happy!

Wow, result! Isn't it funny, when they're coming it's a doom laden phone call, when they're not it's a letter so you can carry on worrying for a couple of extra days. Confirms their sadism methinks

back to catching up with posts

Just thought I would say (in case any of you lovely mse'rs are Ofsted inspectors) that while I am happy not to see you this week as we are a tad busy, you are of course most welcome to our lovely little school and we will only be too glad to supply you with endless piles of [STRIKE]useless[/STRIKE] useful policies and paperwork now that you have granted us the 6 weeks holiday to [STRIKE]create[/STRIKE] perfect them.;)

(Just covering all eventualities as you never know who is reading!)

PS. My real name is Bernard and my school is in Wolverhampton:rotfl:
    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Webitha (((((big hugs))))) so sorry to hear about the loss of your dog, hope you are hanging in there & we are all here to support you.

Katenut, cried soooo much about the rabbit story

Dora - great news about Ofstead!! :T

Boult - do tell did they take their boots off?

No NSD to report today, tried really hard but is the 3 year anniversary of my best friends death, so coped by by smoking 10 cigs (currently a reformed smoker & they didn't help by the way) & popping to the local for a drink, which just made me show myself up by sobbing in public, think i need a better plan for next year!!!!
But i guess at least she made herself known by taking my mind off the DIY for a day, god bless her.
Am hoping another cry & some sleep will put me back on track for tomorrow, & that i get a better coping strategy for next year...
RIP Karol, i miss u soooooo much xxx

I too lost a good friend 18 months ago, a couple of weeks ago I was clearing out a little used email account and I came across a round robin email she'd sent me in 2008. I'd never opened it and I can't remember seeing it there before - somehow I think she knew I was thinking of her, it read...

Of all the friends I've ever met,
    You're the one I won't forget.
    And if I die
    Before you do
    I'll go to heaven
    And wait for you
    I'll give the angels
    Back their wings
And risk the loss Of everything
    Just to prove
    My friendship is true
    I'm thankful to have
    Family and Friends like you!

I'm sure your friend was glad to have a friend like you...

Anyhow *sniff* not a nsd for me, don't think I'll get one this week with the flying off to Guernsey and what have you but I did manage not to buy the wonderful suit that I saw in Tescos despite the fact that it was practically off the hanger shouting but Janet, I'll look sooooooo good on you...hehe
