Declaring today as NSD #9 - like PDD, if we ain't got it now we can't get it until tomorrow ;)

(And tomorrow is a D/Debit day, so I need to check what groceries etc I need before Thursday - which I reckon will be the next D/Debit day after that)

Started wet here this morning - but rain had stopped by the time I struggled out of bed at 8am after 7:30am alarms (fingers crossed I manage to get up with my 5:30am alarms tomorrow/Tuesday, else I'll be late for work  )

By the time I went out for my run (10am-ish) it was bright enough, but a really cool breeze. Either the weather warmed up while I was on my run or my body turned on an internal radiator, as after 6.5km (a few small sections of which I walked) I was roasting rolleyes2.gif It was still really breezy in the back garden though, so I risked pegging washing out around noon (light rain showers threatened according to the weather), and it was all dry an hour later when I went back to check

Spoon - yes 4 lawns!!! Biggest is out back, and now broken up by raised beds which actually makes it harder to mow :o I then have a small one outside kitchen window (which is at the front of house) and a middling sized one between the shared drive and next-door-to-my-right boundary fence.

The 4th is across the drive, and is actually a shared one with 3 houses each being responsible for a part of it. The smallest section (which runs about 3 mower widths alongside the entire length of my bit) belongs to the vicarage (immediately across the shared drive, but we don't share the drive with them), and I do that for them as they were really supportive (without pushing me to attend church/'get religion') when DH passed away. The third section belongs to my immediate neighbours to my left, who have also been brilliant neighbours and a great help when needed. They struggle to find time to do it as he's a doctor at one of the local-ish hospitals, she works part-time, and they have twins who are just turned 2.

Have spent the last couple of hours slowly sorting through yet more clutter, with regular breaks for a drink (getting throug loads of water since I started running) and to check a couple of forums for new posts - but I guess I'd better get back to it before it's time to make tea. We're having roast pork (slices saved from a previous roast and defrosted today, which will be heated through in a steamer over the frozen veg) with baby (and I do mean baby - they're tiny !!) potatoes from the garden. My very first home grown veg though, so who cares they're small :D (Had to harvest these spuds yesterday as 3 plants were wilting, and hadn't really recovered even after a few good watering sessions :( Remains to be seen what I get from the other 12......)

NSD No.3 today!! Yippeeeee!! Everyone else is getting on well too it seems!! Have planned my meal plan for the week and done out my shopping list too. Rather peeved to find out that the ham that I usually buy at A$da has gone up by 20p in ONE WEEK!!
But apart from that, all good. Think my ways are finally influencing hubby as when we were in $ainsburys today (which he paid for - yay!) he went off to get orange juice and came back with the basics one!!! :T He even told me this morning that "yesterday was an NSD" for him...so he's even getting the lingo now!! :rotfl: I am very happy as it is much easier with his help!

That's great news for you :)

Had to try and explain the concept of NSDs to OH a couple of weeks ago - made some passing comment about having a 'couple of NSDs to report when I get in' when asked what the rest of my day entailed (as I was about to head home), and got a really perplexed look :rotfl:

Still don't think he "got" it, but he didn't laugh at me which is something :) And I've already spotted that a lot of the shopping at his place is the value type labels or things I know are currently on offer, and I even sometimes see things knocking around with Whoopsie stickers - so he and his DS (they share the shopping 'chore') are at least heading in the right direction without needing any pushing ;)

(Will make it easier when he starts coming this way, as I know he won't shudder at all the value and Whoopsie labels he'll find in my kitchen)

    Hello All

Managed to make Friday a NSD and today has been as well, so a slightly more respectable 4 for me please Spoon.

Yesterday not so good, it was a spend day - I went shopping with a friend and did buy a few bits but this is a friend who I have felt the need to keep up with and use to spend more than I could afford. So whilst I did spend yesterday I don't feel I got carried away buying things for the sake of it, all stuff is either needed, useful or was good value.

I even remembered to fill up with fuel yesterday to tie in to a known spend day, so that I don't have to start Monday morning with a failure already in the bag.

Saturday NSD for me. Sunday should be NSD as well but I gave DD £2 towards her lunch. Not sure if this counts as spending. I await your comments!

OH wow what lovely neighbours you have. So nice when people are supportive, can I swap you for my pot smoking, noisy child running around at 1am neighbours?

I had the same sort of reaction when I found out that the 3 x 2l bottles of diet coke which are my treat each week had gone up from £3 to £4 for 3 bottles JUST ONE WEEK :eek::eek: I wonder if that is in readiness for the hot weather. Me a cynic!!!!! nah

Nice to hear you have support Jo.

LOL I still get the odd one or two lurking around. This one is a real old fashioned one that insists on paying for all dates so very appreciated in the NSD stakes. lol

I forgot to mention earlier that I went out for my first very slow and very sedate run today. 2 1/2 months after breaking my kneecap. Managed to do 8 1 min bursts of jogging with 90 second walks in between. Right back to where I was when I started running. BUT I wasn't running such short bursts because my fitness wasn't up to it, it's just that I need to take care of my knee. Felt so good to run again. Albeit that my knee is really sore now. Thank you ostepath for giving me the go ahead to start again. :D:D:D

and mine gets upset if I get my purse out - the only objection he's yet laid on the table is that I pay for the petrol to get to his/home (and we normally use my car when we go out for the day too - so I always make sure I've enough fuel before getting there. If I didn't I can see us having a stand-up fight about who's paying at the petrol station ;) )

Well done :T Just make sure you have the prescribed rest days!!!!

At least if I over-do things I'm just going to have sore legs at work, but it shouldn't lay me up for weeks.......
