While I think about it.... came on to post a couple of things as well as catch up on posts since Thursday lunch....

    Declaring Friday as NSD #7.

Weather was hit and miss, so OH and I didn't go anywhere other than take-away for pizza (he paid, but even if I had that would have come out of my 'social life' budget which isn't a part of any of my challenges.... I just have to keep the spends below what I earn for doing extra hours as that's how I'm funding it ;))
4 : Wimbledon finals day - virtual outing to centre court
    15: 3Dogs' birthday
    16: cw18 DS's birthday
    17: Kayleighpea's birthday
22: skaps' wedding - new hats everyone:)
    25: boultdj's birthday
    TBA: virtual outing to Leeds

and I finally managed to pin down the date of OH's DS1's birthday - so you can add 26th to that list for another birthday party (and more cake) if you like :) Second half of the month is looking busy !!!! (Note to self - get a card made for taking/sending up, and sort out something as a small token pressie)

Hello Peeps...I've lost a day :( Took the first of a new tablet prescribed by the bluddin quack Tues evening & have slept for around 36hrs with only a brief couple of spells to have a sip of water or a visit to the little mumma's room :o Needless to say, I am NOT taking any more!
    ((hugs))

I was given some meds like that when my back was bad and I was trying to get back to work after 6 or 7 weeks (Aug 2006 - ended up being off until Feb 2008!). Biggest problem for me (other than not getting up for work) was that lying down for extended periods actually makes my back worse

I took mine at a reduced dose for a second day with much the same result, then told my GP where to stick them and went back to the previous meds I'd been on !!

closing in on NSD no3 today for me
OH asked me to get some milk for him whilst at work - I told him to buy it himself :)

:D:D lol Soma I thought I was the only one using that trick sometimes, especially last month, so this month I made sure we got back up uht milk, and powdered milk with the shopping.
I don't mind them "not fresh milks", he does, but he will use them in desperate times.

There's this one time, almost ruined my NSD, so I pretended not to have seen the text he'd sent me. :o

Ok, its fading a little but I need more help here if I'm going to resist till Thursday and I'm on the flight home

OK, in the interest of another NSD...

Never a good idea to buy something when it's brand new, wait for the glitches to be ironed out (and there will be glitches). Mark 2 is usually a better bet

    Your iphone is more portable:D

If you really, really, really, really can't live without it, could you sell your laptop and make do with the iphone and ipad?

Will you be able to pay it off before your 0% credit card runs out (bit nosey that one, you don't have to answer that here, just think about it maybe?).

    Any better?

    Hi gang :)

Wondered if you would mind if I joined in?
I dont count money from the food budget or other budgeted spends but include everything else.
    Does that sound about right?

    Hi beanie
Lovely to have you join up, of course we don't mind:D

You can run the challenge to suit yourself, some count food, some don't, some count direct debits, some don't. It really depends on what you want to cut down on.

Would you like to set yourself a target for the month?

Have a think and let me know and I'll add you to the front page later today when I do the update (if you set a target, you get a "prize" on the front page)...

    Welcome on board

Moneypenny2k, here's a few question I always ask myself before buying newly launched gadgets at very high prices

What will the gadget be worth some months to a year from the time its launched?
What are the chances there will be a better, smarter one in a few months time?
How about looking at that chunk of money sitting nicely in your savings/Isa account? rather than owing it to a cc company after paying for a gadget?
Think of TVs for example, we've had plasmas, lcds, and now 3d...
I'm pretty sure there'll be something else soon. All we do is watch them.

I'd say sleep over it for weeks (or months:D if possible..)

Welcome Beanielou - and I see you have set your target at 10 later on -good luck with your NSD's - they make you really aware of when you're spending

Well, Mistress Spoon, I'm reporting my NSD NUMBER 5 for today - been in garden all day soaking up the sun and I am not going out later so I'm declaring early for me

Sunday is my normal car boot & shopping day, so it will be a spend day but Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday are looking good.

Hubbie was doing a car boot with mate today and bought a lovely evening dress for £18 for one of the formal nights on our trip - lady wanted £30 (cost her about £80) but hubbie wasn't quite sure that it would fit me and did not want to spend that on something I might not even like, so he got her down to £18 - it is scarlet red, satiny, strapless with part-boned embroidered bodice, full-length and has an underskirt with flounce of stiffener around at knee height - and I was amazed when it fit me, more or less despite being a size 18. Now, I know that will still sound big to most of you, but when you have been a size 26/28, and even then some things did not fit, it seems likkle to me - thank God for that 4 stone lost through Sl*mm*ng W*rld. I certainly can't get away with bra-less, so I will have to find an appropriate strapless bra (I need one anyway for the other posh frock I bought a couple of weeks ago anyway)

What with the couple of skirts, and loads more tops, I've bought over the last two weeks (all at car boot/charity shops - total cost less than £10) all I've got to get is sandalls for day time (seen some £14.99 at shop that takes Love2Sh*p vouchers and I have £15 voichers to hand) and some dressy shoes for evening (seen some at Asd* for about the same money, and then that is me sorted for the holiday

Love the sound of the dress, 3Dogs, what a bargain for £18 and very glamorous - you'll wow 'em all:):)

What a lovely hubbie you have:)
