Hello NSDers
Today I had to use my chiffon scarf as a belt because I made a mistake of not wearing a belt when i put this pair of jeans on. I did notice with my usual clothes last week but thought i was imagining things.
Well thanks to the NSD challenge, no crisps, chocolate, biscuits, fizzy drinks, ice creams, pounds are now falling off me and accumulating in my bank account instead.
I plan to buy a new pair of trainers and bras but I can proudly say that can wait until August or September:)
Serious planning going on here;);)
Well done all and thanks Spoon for the work you are putting into this thread.
Wow brilliant, Why don't you put some of your old clothes on Ebay to generate the cash for new ones? That's what I did. Got over £200butdoineedit? wrote: »BigMumma & Webitha, hope you're both feeling better soon
Mainyasha - fantastic, no wonder you're smiling!!
Sending loads of luck your way Moneypenny.... you can do it & i'll keep everything crossed (apart from when i'm wielding the sledgehammer for obvious reasons!!:rotfl:)
Number 4 for me today :j & the boiler is finally done :j:j Am hoping this will make for a no spend weekend, as a seriously major clean & tidy is now in order!!!!
OOO sledgehammer wow, rather you than me in this heat.LadyfromVenice wrote: »Declaring NSD 3 today.
Melting in the heat today. Dehydrated at work and had to have first aid (milk and chocolate biscuits Mmmmmmm) as I felt like I was drunk and couldn't stand up properly . Had been drinking plenty, had a full lunch and was only in the playground for 30 minutes this morning so don't know how it happened. Might have been the 30 degree C temperature! Luckily we are all first aid trained and we also have an NHS First Responder working with us!
Hope everybody else had a good day.:)
Have a karate grading tomorrow so I hope it's a bit cooler.........
Schools seem to work us till we drop, bet you had to go back to work after, in an office you'd be packed off home in a cab. Hope you're feeling better now.
Ok guys, I need some help. as most of you know I'm going to Guernsey for an interview next Wednesday. Guernsey are tax free VAT wise and I've been wishfully mooning over an ipad. PLEASE SOMEBODY TALK ME OUT OF SPENDING £500 on a new toy...
Trying to talk myself out of going and doing my food shopping today, I'm out of bread but I know tomorrow is going to be a spend day as I'm taking my grandson to the pictures...
Have a good one all0 -
Heya - Yesterday was NSD 4!! I worked from home, had LO for lunch and built up some flatpack stuff in the afternoon, and OH bought me a half pint in the evening. All good.Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000
Debt free as of 1 October, 2010
Taking my frugal life on the road!0 -
Hi everyone - here to report NSD #5 for yesterday.
Had a lovely lunch with my old pal paid for by OH and I didnt spend another penny, despite having a wander round the bookshop. This is usually a fatal exercise for me as I love books;). However, I did the MSE thing and I noted down all the books I fancied and came home and requested them all from the library. :money:
Today we've been with His Majesty( the dog) to get his hair cut - he is more expensive than me and OH put together, still, as they say - "he's worth it":rotfl:
Treated myself to a couple of houseplants, they've cheered up my kitchen window|!:D
Home now, watching telly and reading cos unlike the rest of the world, its pouring rain here - boo!:(
Have a lovely day all!:)
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
Ok lads and lasses, I've not updated since Tuesday but i need to start updating more regularly as I'll forget spends and no spends I had (luckily I can check my spending diary for now to see when i spent what!)
I had a spend day on Tuesday, not much (hosp parking and a couple of coffees/juice) but still a spend
but then a NSD on Wednesday (takes me to 4)
On Thursday I had a NSD (so that's5 now)
Yesterday was a spend for weekly shop and petrol
Today I've not spent so far but will have a small spend later on as going out for a meal at least its budgeted for as I've been putting some money aside for the last 2 weeks which means i can leave my plastic at home - it's amazing thinking about it as before I'd just put it on plastic and worry about it later when i had to pay CC! So although its a spend, it's a happy one (?!!) and it's not going to panic me later in the month....progress i think! Those that matter don't mind, and those that mind don't matter0 -

OK moneypenny, you asked so:
- do you need (not want, NEED) it?
- do you have anything you can use instead of it?
- if you do get it, will you use it constantly or will it be a novelty that you use for 2 days and then get fed up with it?
- can you afford it, as in not put it on a credit card and end up paying interest on it?
There you go, some food for thought for you.
Hope it helps

Ok, its fading a little but I need more help here if I'm going to resist till Thursday and I'm on the flight home0 -
Friday was NSD for me bringing me to TWO! Took my packed lunch to work, resisted temptation to buy an ice-lolly and drove straight home as my parents were coming round for dinner, had already bought the food on Thurs.
I haven't spent anything today yet but have been ill all morning, starting to feel a bit better so I might have to nip out to get something to eat as didn't have time to make a pcked lunch this morning.
MONEYPENNY2K Call me naive but is an ipad not just a glorified electronic book, can it really be worth £500, would you really get £500 worth out of it, if I had a spare £500 I could think of a whole host of better things to get but the real question is do you have £500 spare????Total Debt May 10 = £580920
