Love it 3 dogs, think it could very shortly become me & the boiler man, after i asked him about when the pipes would go in so i could rebuild the final bit of the wall & he told me he thought it was better he did it & "not to worry my pretty little head" about it!!!:mad::doh:that makes more sense! Couldn't quite hear what you lot were saying, what with the cheering & tripping over empty poo bottles..I've spent the last two days wondering why we would be trying to THROW stones up BDINI's back passage
Owwwww  no more stones up my back passage please, it's never been the subject of this much discussion before :rotfl: :rotfl:solventsoon wrote: »Probably just as well, BDINI, if you see what BigMumma is thinking we're doing!!!!
Chav outfits (and stones;)) at the ready, Tardis primed for more action, a few virtual hangovers persisting but nothing that a few LongIsland tea thingys wouldn't cure, you tell us when and we'll be there;););)
Name the day, i'll clean up a bit so there's plenty of room for you all to crash & to park the tardis!!I'm about more often than not so i'll be ready & waiting (apart from 17th & 23rd when i'm a bit busy
)
solventsoon wrote: »:jBDINI[/FONT][/B]: well done for no 2 - great start for you bearing in mind all the work that’s going on at home, you must be totally shattered.
Have to admit i feel really spoilt moaning cos i know i'm really lucky to be able to have the heating sorted, but i am shattered with doing every night as soon as i get back from work & i am sooooo sick of the mess, everything seems to be coated in a film of dust that the dust fairy replaces every night no matter how much i clean it!!!! Still will be worth it & you'll all have unlimited hot water available when you invade my back alley :rotfl:
Sorry to report that today is not a NSD, after the row over the wall i treated myself to a bottle of wine to try & chill out with & had some ebay bits to post. As i don't count bus fare as a spend tomorrow will be as i'm finally going for my interview for the voluntary work i applied for months ago & i'm determined to go straight there & straight home again... really excited about it now!! :j

When I saw that earlier, I nearly posted to say someone else had stolen it today
Started by oversleeping by more than 2 hours !!!
Made it to my voluntary work only a few minutes late (just as well I did the shopping for it last night)
Came home and cleared access to a few radiators, my central heating control panel and the boiler
Then I sat and did nothing, and nothing, and more nothing !!!!!
Engineer finally arrived at 4:45pm to do the annual service/check - and was gone by 5:15pm, when I sat back down for more nothing-ness......
Until 5:45pm - at which point I think whoever had stolen my 'get up go' must have returned it.
A friend mentioned to me last night that there's a local running club (her DH found it, but decided he's not "addicted enough to running" to join), so I found their website last night and spent some time reading it this afternoon (while I was busy doing nothing).
Decided the best session for me (for now) is probably a Tuesday evening (and possibly Thursday evening - and Saturday morning if I'm not at OH's), but wanted to speak to someone first - and as Wednesday is the only night they meet at their official base (the other sessions all need a car to get out to them) I decided to bob over and see them tonight.
Used the map site to find a 1.5km run (plus warm-up/cool-down) to get over there - unlikely to get chance to run tomorrow, definitely won't on Friday, and highly unlikely on Saturday) - and set off giving myself heaps more time than I thought I'd need
Just as well I allowed extra time though, 'cos I missed a turning on a path which meant I then missed the next path through the next estate over - and ended up doing just short of 3.5km (which took me 25 mins)
There weren't many folks there when I arrived (only a minute or two late for meet-up time, which is 15 mins before start time), but I recognised the membership secretary from his photo on the website so went over to speak to him
I ended up being talked into staying around to 'watch' todays session (Wednesday night is stamina), but that meant having to join them on the 1km warm-up run to get to the site they were using
(at this point it's probably worth mentioning that the longest 'single' run I've ever done is 2.5km which was on Monday, and the furthest I've ever run in one day is 3.34km which was yesterday but split as 1.75, 0.34 and 1.25)
Turned out the '18 hills hard up jog down' listed on the site means they jog down a hill and then run back up it 18 times - though the point they run back up to varies according to ability. And of course I was 'encouraged' to give it a try
Managed the first 3, then sat out the next 8 - though I did 3 shorter 'there and backs' on a flatter section while they were busy with the hill - then I did the next, and alternates after that. On the last one - which was number 7 for me - everyone runs back to the highest point (no stopping at your normal marker and walking the rest). So I reckon that was another 3.3km (0.6km for my 'short' bits, and 2.7km for the hill work) - meaning I've done a total of not much under 8km today..... just as well I wasn't planning to run again until Sunday, and am now desperately hoping GD1 doesn't try roping me into the 'parents race' at her sports day tomorrow afternoon
But - typically - they waited until we'd finished to inform me that todays session (which it sounds like they repeat every 3 or 4 weeks) is the toughest one they do - hence only 11 or 12 others thereI actually quite enjoyed it though, and have a feeling I may set aside one morning/evening a week to head out and try it on my own
One of the lady members realised (as we got back to HQ) that I was planning to walk home, so she offered me a lift part way which meant I didn't have any uphills to contend with - the offer was very gratefully accepted
I've been told there's normally a turn-out of 30-40 on a Tuesday night, with over 90 members in total. Membership is only £20/year, which includes use of the track at a 'fairly local' sports centre on a Monday night, and you can do 2 or 3 sessions before deciding whether to join (though if one of those is a Monday you have to pay £2.50 towards the hire of the track)Cheryl0
