Whoops just realised I haven't updated at all..oooh do forgive me. :( I have been keeping my budget book up to date though so at least I can just pop on there and see what days I have spent, so I can just refer to that for an uptodate NSD's for here :)

So without further ado I would like to say I have so far 15 NSD's, I am hoping that I can make it through to the 17 by Saturday..fingers crossed everyone :D

Hope everyone is doing okay, and well done to all those that have made their totals and even gone over them :) To others that are struggling, like me, there i salways next month as I am forever saying..lol

  • Morning everyone, I have been and got my milk as I can't live without my cuppas so today won't be a NSD. I think I'd be pushing it to add anymore onto my total Spoon, so more than happy with a refillable champagne bottle thank you very muchly, will keep it under my desk at work just incase I run out of milk again :rotfl: No NSD tomorrow either I'm holiday shopping, I will find a maxi dress and some shorts and floaty trousers if it kills me.

Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday :D

    Hello All

Just Declaring my 7th NSD for today. Not able to spend today - left the purse at home just to make sure. One more to go.

If i make it to 8 - which is unheard of for me, will be upping it to 9 for August - as that is our big bill month - and we are going to be pretty skint!!!!

  • Well, I've just had a small lightbulb moment.

I notice that a lot of you have budgets for this and that and don't count these spends in your NSD total.

    So...........

I was thinking..........(yes it did hurt)

I will have the following budgets.................

Grocery, Clothes, Karate, mortgage, council tax, child trust funds, school clothes. There I think that's it. If I had these budgets I would have had NO spend days in July :D 31 NSDs please Spoon:rotfl:

Seriously though, everyone has done really well this month and we all have our own reasons and ways of counting our NSDs. It doesn't matter if we get 1 or 21. The fact is that we are thinking about what we are spending our money on and most of us are reducing the amount of money we spend.

    382534.gif Well done everyone

NSD 16 for me today thanks Spoon.

Just wanted to say thanks to BigMummaF and Maydasha ( hope i got the spelling right:o)

Due to trying out the suggestions you made early this month i have almost got to target for the first time in months

This was my new years resolution and i lurked on the boards when each month i only managed 2 or 3 NSD's - too ashamed to admit that although my target was 6 i wasnt even getting half way there.

Thanks to this thread - and making myself post - i am going to make it this month!

Just wanted to say to all the fellow NSD's you are appreciated - thanks for being patient while i try to get the hang of this

BDINI - just saw your message about the lodger......... I had a lodger for years and I must say he was lovely - we hardly really saw him - he kept to his room most of the time (it was a large room) he recently came back to stay with us as he broke up with his girlfriend and he worked shifts so we did hardly see him again (although this time I did feed him as he was back as a friend not lodger)

I think you need to get some ground rules in place as the main thing is you don't want to feel uncomfortable in your own home - i must say the money from him at the time was a godsend and I did struggle when he moved out but we coped.

Also please get someone you can totally trust (my ex lodger has now moved into a flat with some friends of mine on my recommendation) as I have heard some nightmare stories esp about identity theft etc.....

Sorry that now sounds like I have put a downer on it - but I honestly had a really good experience.

    xxxxxxx

Sunnylooloo, you haven't put a downer on it at all, all the things you mentioned are the things i worried about. I'm not too sure where i'm going to find someone i totally trust, as i don't want to rent to a friend in case it wrecks the friendship, so think i will be going for a friend of a friend or advertising at work (serious CRB checks going on, so this would give me some peace of mind), won't be till September so time for research, have to say i also fancy a Monday to Friday lodger, saw a website for this a while back, but guess it will depend on how well they check em out....

Right time for a sandwich & back to work, research will continue tonight, all tips very welcome!!!!
