So today I work: denim shirt (freebie from boyf's mum) tucked into a black tulip miss selfridge skirt £2.99 charity shop, blue tights £1, Blue suede foxglove sandals £3.99, string of pearls from some carboot or other :) felt great all day but as skirt isn't lined when I went to meet boyf for coffee at lunchtime it had rode right up, ooops!

  • I think I need help....I'm addicted to clothes shopping! I've lost nearly 5 stone in the past 18 months and it has resulted in me wanting to buy loads of new fashionable clothes, thing is I'm always skint lol. I've been scouring ebay for the past few nights trying to find bargains but not had any luck, anyone got any tips? Thanks :)

I can't help you solve your shopping addiction, I have one of my own! But I make it more affordable by buying second hand - carboot sales, charity shops, jumble sales. Pretty much everything I buy today is second hand and no one would ever know ;) check out the local paper for carboots this weekend and buy yourself a whole bag full of stuff for less than £10 :D

Oh I can't get up early on both weekend days, I like my bed too much!

Queenie, I have a charity shop related question for you. Will they take underwear? I'm having a major clear out of stuff that doesn't fit and there are variou bras and pants in the pile. Don't want to send them stuff they can't do anything with but I have a vague idea that you can mark bags up as rags and the charity shop will still get some money for them?

Evening! Just had a great day at the 3 Foot Festival, lovely weather and yummy food. Wearing a different longer pair of jean cut offs with a floral vest and tan gladiators.
    Hope everyone is well xx

    Morning all

Another sunny one by the looks of it,

Didn't get on here yesterday so outfit was:
Red maxi dress DP bought with birthday money
    Grey vest -Tesco sale £2
    Pewter gladiators - George £12
Denim waiscoat- again 10p so gald I took the plunge and made it, in fact today I think I shall be wearing my lack maxi dress and yes you guessed my denim waistcoat:D so each wear of it has actually cost me only 3.33p:D

I've got a jumble sale at 10.30 this morning, haven't been to this one since March time but it was fab last time so fingers crossed.

Alex - I have seen bras in charity shops and other underwear think apart from knickers they will take most underwear.

Queenie - are you still helping out in the CS now you are working? I so want to help out in one, think it would be fab.

Hope everyone has a great day xx

Hello guys! was back to work last week after time off with sciatica so just been catching up this am!

Alex- the local charity shop near me certainly does do rags if you mark them up - i'm not sure ALL of them do, but certainly a lot do - maybe ring round your more local ones to check? - I put everything in the rag bag - old knickers, rags of cloth from cloth cuttings, all old clothes too thread worn for the charity bag.(all washed and clean you understand!!!!);)

You guys have inspired me a little bit more with the ebay - it's just finding time - while I was off I wasn't allowed to (and physically couldn't) do anything so spent some of the week lying flat on my stomach listing stuff on ebay and made £30 in that week - bargain!!! So must try and get some stuff listed this weekend.

We have a local sunday car boot by us, but it's always so busy and I'm really not a one for crowds! the idea fills me with dread - this is of course from someone who is about to venture out to Durham Miners Gala with the OH who has never been before!!

No idea what i'm gonna wear. Jeans and a T-shirt knowing me - but weather up here is funny - very humid, but with actually a bit of a chill wind, sitting here with living room outside door open.

Thanks to Elainem10 for the comment on getting a smaller ring to get stretched - a great bit of advice - thanks again!

Alex, Queenie - where do I find your blogs?

Well better go. Think it's shaping up for a busy day, once it gets going.

Oooh!! just got my Tesco vouchers for Pizza Express through the post £12.50 worth of vouchers = £50 in Pizza Express!! Woohoo looking forward to tonight when i think we're going to spend them!!!

    take care all!

  • Queenie, read that too late, couldn't have gone anyhow, dh has the car for work on a saturday so noe car untill 12, but he is off next saturday so i *may* be able to drag myself up to go- Looking forward to finding out your opnions on it!!

Immynjoesum, congratulations on the weight loss, from someone who stuglles with her weight (and i am heavier now than i would like to be) i know it is no mean feat!! Regarding your fashion issue, why not pull everything out and try it on then try putting different bits together?? find out what kind of style you want and see waht you have before going shopping. It may just be a case of buying a few key pieces to pull an outfit together. I too have a spending habit although cured somewhat through my own personal challenge!!

Littlewigsy, you can find people's blog by clicking on there username and where it says 'go to *** homepage', i know goanmad, queenie, and alex have blogs, But has anyone else, would love to know!!

Busy today attending to my childrens social lives (where did mine go???!!) wearing a flippy black jersey skirt from matalan via chazza shop (£3) flowery grey vest from primark (£4?) jewlled sandles from next via friend in black, black necklace and pearl earrings, hair bumped to perfection and sporting my 'crimson lippy'

have a nice day ladies, pop back later

    Sharronx

mmmm back from 'jumble' , it wasn't on, all the church locked up so can only guess the paper got the dates wrong, knowing my luck it'll be next week when its DS2's party, oh well never mind.

Littlewigsey - click on the persons name and it'll reveal a drop down box and it'll give you ****'s homepage then click on their to the aforementioned b**g, though we aren't supposed to mention them. Have a great time at the gala, I'm 'up north' but not as far as you, very warm and humid with some huge grey clouds hovering so hope the rain holds off for you.
  • Hi all,

hope you are having lovely weekends, it is soooooooo hot here. Waiting for a chum to come up from South London so I can start supping a few Cuba Libres or we might go to a free festival in a village up the road.

    Me today:
Peach vintage broiderie anglais slightly oversized blouse (thrifted)
Skinny plated leather belt round waist (thrifted)
    Denim short shorts (Bay Trading)

No accessories yet, will decided after sprucing up the flat for my visitor.

    Take care x

  • my joe browns stuff got here at 10am today :D

I'm glad i got the jacket, makes me feel quite victorian wearing it :p Ill take some pics sometime but its a bit hot for trying stuff on at the moment.

Once again a bit frustrated with how different some things are than what they looked in the pics. This is knee length for example!

Decided i need to think of 3 outfits for each item before i decide to keep it.

Just had a new charity shop open up here (that makes 6!) which was is suprisingly reasonably priced and quite nicely arranged. Thinking of volunteering there. Bought peep show season 1 & 2 for a pound each.
