Now that really pis*es me off, why the hell should you get to queue jump if you are disabled. As long as it's not mobility issues then you should stand in line with everyone else.
My partner suffers from mental health problems and hanging around too long in one place is one of his 'triggers' and can lead to him becoming poorly...This would mean the end of a family day out...
Remember - Not all disability is visible...
I am also registered disabled - deaf without speech - I wear two hearing aids but if you were to walk by me when Im wearing my hair down you would never guess that I was disabled... :rotfl::heartpuls Gains & £'s saved..Far too many to mention! Needless to say I LOVE MSE! :heartpuls

I would find the queue jump to be a huge benefit to me as I could visit a theme park on a nice day and not be in tears from trying to endure being stuck in sunlight for long periods and standing with my partner wrapping himself around me so I can hide my face in his chest and shield my eyes from the sunlight. I could use an actual blindfold but the ensuing stupid comments from random strangers would make just being there terribly unpleasant. I can put one foot in front of the other just fine though so there are many very varying reasons why such an option could be of great benefit to a dissabled person."Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0

I had my complete central heating system replaced last week under the Warm Front scheme.
This will soon be opening for 2011-12 applications, do apply early.
It needn't be boiler /radiator replacement, they do insulation too.
Many of you will know of this already but there may be someone new around.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Hi all - can anyone help me please?
I was made redundant in Feb...(Im disabled, I am bilateral deaf and have mobility needs) and as a results of my disability I have to move house due to space and my equipment needs. (due to move next month)
Anyway to cut a long story short Im moving from a furnished property to an empty shell (I have some money, my small redundancy which is already allocated to the cost and upheaval of moving - but not enough for other equipment i need.)
For example, I really need a small modest electrical cooker. Nothing too expensive. Does anyone know of any charities that help disabled people who have fallen on hard times with grants/funding?? It is frustrating because Ive always worked full time and am really struggling with my lack of income.
...Or perhaps you may know of a loan scheme which I wont be ripped off by paying really high interest? I'm quite naive as I've always been quite independent & debt free but my redundancy has put me in a desperate situation.
Any of your great advice would be greatly appreciated!
PS Disneyland Paris are very accommodating for Disabled people and one carer. Q-jump, enter rides via exits etc...I think even our entry tickets were subsidised on production of my DLA award letter and Drs letter outlining my conditions.0 -

hi i noticed people talked about career ticket for concerts
called the sheffield arena to buy some tickets but they new nothing about it
so was wondering if anyone new any venues that do offer around the yorkshire area0 -
For anyone going to the Torquay area this summer - we had a boat ride on the River Dart on a day trip from Torquay. I asked if the carer travelled free and was told No - but instead was offered two free child places. If I had a free ticket as a carer, I would have saved £7.50. Instead, I saved £11 (two child tickets at £5.50 each).
I also asked at the Jungle Adventure Golf in Torquay and recevvied free entry as a carer - saving £5.50.
Both are accessible for somebody with limited mobility, but not for wheelchair users who have no mobility. My son had to climb up the step onto the baot, andd at the golf, there were a few small steps. The golf also had some pathways that were too narrow for the wheelchair to be wheeled over, so we had to lift it a couple of times (once down five steps - no ramp).
We had a great time, so I hope this helps somebody.0 -

Some shows may have a concession for children under 16, carers, students and senior sitizens. Please check the website to see which shows have a concession available - you may be asked to provide evidence that you are entitled to purchase tickets at a concessionary rate.
02 academy also do disabled tickets (with free ticket for carer)If you are registered disabled you are entitled to be accompanied by a free carer so please take this into consideration when booking your ticket(s).
