The new Harry Potter tour is doing free carer/p.a. ticketsjust passing through.... Nothing to see....0

Just a suggestion for the thread.
As with the craft making thread in the Old Style board would it be possible to introduce an index for these various discounts. Maybe index them by region/City/County. It would make it a lot easier to track the various offers based on where in the country you are looking for various discounts without having to trawl right through the thread..
Just an idea.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

I thought disable people wanted to be treated the same as everyone else?
So why should they get discount?
Isn't that what their DLA and other benefits is for?
So if the cinema offers a free ticket for the carer it's more likely that the disabled person can go! It is making it fairer, because otherwise the day out would be twice as expensive for the disabled person.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

It is for when we do something yes. However the DLA doesn't pay for our carer to do the same thing. For those that need the carer this is a problem. This is why places do a carers go free or at a lower price or simular.
Those that get a car have to use a car to get around so toll bridges realise this and don't charge if you have the right badge etc.
If you use the bus you can get a bus pass if you have the need/right award (with carer if needed) as traveling distances that are possible for others may not be for you without the use of a bus. Example - I usually can't get to the nearest shop (very small and with a very steep ramp to get in) that isn't even 0.5miles away (a walkable distance for most people I think you will agree) without getting a bus there and back! Using my wheelchair that would take me around 15mins each way - I've only managed it once self propelling all the way as the pavements around here make it a lot harder to self-propel, my fiance was with me incase I needed him to push. It is much easier and simpler to go by bus.
Treats like going out to the theatre/cinema etc are rare enough when you are disabled and need someone to go with you if you have to pay out more just because you have no other choice it becomes even rarer.

However. If a Privately owned company wishes to provide a discount/deal/offer/free entry/ or if they want to pay every disabled person who enters their property £1000 as a reward. That is their choice. It affects nobody else but the owner of the attraction/cinema/etc etc.
It seems that despite this forum being part of the MONEY SAVING EXPERT website, some ignorant people on here believe it is wrong for people on benefits to be allowed to SAVE MONEY.
Personally I don't care if the attraction I am going to has a disabled policy with regards to admission fees, I go because I want to go. But if the owners of the attraction want to allow me a discount for me or the person who pushes my wheelchair then so be it. Money is tight at the best of times, even to those on benefits, despite what the ignorant idiots on here would have you believe. So any MONEY SAVING options are greatly appreciated.Maybe you should take this up with Mr Lewis? See what he has to say about it.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

Just wanted to say that I checked Soapn's other postings and many of them are of a similar vein. Please don't feed this troll if it posts again, I hope your blood pressures have recovered.
Also please do continue to highlight any money saving discounts!Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
