Yes. Which makes no sense when people with sensory loss can't really enjoy the film like that.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

you can often find that the 'full price' ticket purchased is cheaper than normal too. For example, both me and my fiance go for just over £6 between us rather than £8ish a ticket it usually costs.0

I only go to London once or twice a year but the fares are a killer. I have a Greater Manchester concession pass so i get free off peak travel on buses everywhere in England. I usually buy my train ticket in advance from Stockport to Euston using my disabled persons railcard but i am interested in finding the cheapest tickets for the underground. I stay for 2-3 days. Is it worth getting an Oyster card or is there a cheaper way? Most passes seem to include the buses but as i get them free i just need an underground pass.0

If you look up this thread you can buy a London Transport DSB rate day travelcard which covers zones 1-6 (after 9am) for tube, train & bus which cost me £5.30 per day last time I bought one. You can buy this at a train station with your DPR (or you can around here!) I've also bought them for further days ahead - they can be printed with tomorrow's date etc on them. I think it compares well to Oyster tube fares.0 -
So, to get a discount on the tube you need to have a disabled persons railcard. Is that correct or can you show the tube ticket ofice proof of your disability and still buy it?0

It's with a Disabled Persons Railcard - you can buy the DSB rate day travelcard at a rail or tube ticket office ask for a "all zones disabled travelcard" and you & a companion can get one for around £5 (£5.30 I think currently)
I find it easier to get one at a rail station rather than queuing at a tube ticket office as I can't stand for too long.
Not sure if you can get the travelcard without a DPR!0 -
These travel cards are for trains/underground and buses. At £5.30 a day they will cost me more than it costs to get from Stockport to London. I won't be using London trains and i get free travel on the buses so i really only want a pass for the underground.0

I suggest you look at what Oyster card discounts are offered for people with disabilities?0 -
Went bowling at AMF bowling a few days ago and got a disabled discount. I did go in my wheelchair.
It cost £2.20 a game and it is usually £5.50 a game (peak time).
They do not advertise this discount from what I know but it should be for all AMF bowling places.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
I've just been reading about people wanting to use the london underground when they have either a disability bus pass and blue card holders.
For cheaper travel trough london, have you not thought of the Oyster card? Just top-up as pay n go, thenif you live out side of london and don't use it very often, get your money back either the £3 for the cost of the card, just hand it in at any underground service desk and you get your money back0
