To be honest I don't like this

at all. The re-use of a preowned 22mm nut on the tee with the plastic pipe implies bodgery to me. I hope the plastic pipe has an insert fitted and also that a copper olive was used not brass. I hope the bath isn't going back in on top of it either because if any of those come undone there'll be the devils own job tightening them up again.

Not sure why 15mm has been replaced with 22mm either TBH.

    Sorry to be a Jonah.

    Cheers

BTW - Did he show you a GasSafe card or a CORGI card?

thanks,,,yes he did have a corgi registration...i made sure of that before he started....not sure about the pre owned thingermy...but the bath wont be going on top of the pipes as we are putting it off to the right so these pipes will now be under the new vanity unit....I think the 22 pipe was originally there ..in the other pic you cant see it as it was under the pipework on top
1984returns.......the earth wire was lying under a pipe...exactly as its shown in the pic......just lying there rolled up???

Oh dear here's more Jonah then. CORGI was replaced as the maintainer of the register by GasSafe 15 months ago and all RGIs were required to change over to the new register (CORGI still exists as a trading company but doesn't maintain the register any more) with no period of grace. Anyone who now shows you a CORGI RGI registration who works on your gas and charges you for the privelege is acting illegally.

"Hi Ho Silver" perchance? Sorry that was catty and uncalled for. I'll get me coat then.

But, seriously, if he is illegally working on gas for remuneration he should be reported before he does some damage.

Well, don't chuck it because he has put a plastic pipe in so you may need earth bonding depending on what comes after the plastic.

Although the rules may have changed for 17th Edition. I don't know

God knows - must have been half asleep when I looked at the original pic but that doesn't change the fact that recycled fittings have been used (:naughty:) nor does it lessen the chance of a burst if an insert and copper olive weren't used on the joint to the plastic.

Supplementary equipotential bonding isn't required if the electrics are to the 17th.
