Are you sure it is a gas pipe in the way & not a radiator pipe?

This is exactly what has just happened to us. Slow leak must have been merrily seeping away in the background for some time, eventually it became a faster leak and brought down the kitchen ceiling. Damage has been estimated at £3k, loss adjuster is visiting soon.

Don't be tempted to cut corners, fix it properly now.

If the bath was completely removed could your hubby get to tighten it?

unfortunatley not...the bath and sink are both out at the mo...just the toilet fitted and without moving that gas pipe there is no way he can get to it with tools.....we have even thought about taking up the floorboards and going in from underneath...thats gonna be his next step i think...if that doesnt work then it will have to be the experts!
