Afternoon all
Another good day at work - menu planning for the kids residential next week, and then down the beach in the afternoon for some football! My shoes are full of sand now :rotfl:
We had horrendous weather last night! It poured down and was very windy, I had to close my window in the night cos the wind was so loud! Still wet this morning but it brightened up this afternoon. It's still boiling though.
I'm off out to my friend's for dinner tonight, we having roast veg pasta. She is recently single and hates spending any time alone! I've been single (ish!) for 18months and love my own time :rotfl: I don't think I could cope with a full time OH!
Not much OS here today, I've prepped my lunch for tomorrow from leftovers in the fridge, that's about it.
Have a good day all

Hi everyone:wave: and :hello: to our newbies today.
Spoke to Jayward yesterday she is in hospital, needs to have some treatment which has not agreed with her in the past, but hopefully she may get to her DS's graduation in 14 days time, postive vibes and fingers crossed for her please. If the treatment doesn't work she will have to have an op, all linked to her Crohns. :grouphug:
Another 0.3 kilograms off this morning so 1.9 kilos so far this week, may even get into my bikini's again at some point in the future :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::o:D
Lovely day again here today, been in the pool twice.
BBQ tonight, DH is having sausages and I will be having trout, mine with salad, and he may desire some oven chips:o.
Wimbledon a bit duff today, I also prefer mens tennis, was even bettter when they wore shorter, tighter shorts;);):D
Looking more hopeful for DS & GF as seems the airline/government have arranged a takeover, and Atlasjet will be honouring the flights, so they may get back from Turkey over the weekend.
The bits we fetched with us to complete the kitchen face lift have now all been fitted by DH, bin inside cupboard, pull out towel rail, and Spice Rack on the wall keeping worktops free-er.
Have some ironing, so may face that in the morning, or if TV is boring tonight.
Take care and :grouphug: to all those not on top of the world.

Hello everyone,
Had day at home as we had a new pVc back door fitted, glazer (who did the job cash in hand) rang last night to say he had a spot this morning - so had a mad dash to the bank but glad its done and its great. No inch gap at the bottom and it actually opens without banging it!:rotfl:
Made shepards pie for tea, boys didnt each much thou.
Downstairs and upstairs hoovered and bathroom sparkling.
Have officially changed my surname today so its the same as OH and the boys. Ds1 who is 5 keeps asking why my 'second name' doesnt have the same letters as his. I havent changed my title, never use it and may as well wait till if we do eventually get round to getting married!
PP sorry to hear your going into hospital again - thoughts are with you xx
Take care everyone xxMum, wife and dinnerlady!0 -
PP sorry to hear about your possible hospital week. Its tough especially with your OH not being well also.
Welcome to the newbies you will enjoy it on here great recipes and lots of helpful advice when you need it.
i had my pal down from Dartford today and this afternoon we went to my craft club.a lot of the ladies were on holiday so there was only about 8 of us but in 2 hours we had made 70+ cards for my DD's friends charity stall which she is running at the Danson Park Show in Welling this week-end.Her late husband was my DDs best man at their wedding in 1988 and was a lovely chap who sadly lost his life to bone-cancer 7 years ago.She has been fundraising for her charity which she set up in his name .'The Mark Cross Bone Cancer Fund' and every penny goes to research into this horrible illness (you can google it)He was a smashing bloke who lost his life far too young and his wife Jill has worked tirelessly to raise money for a paid researcher at UCLH alomng with other things.
Every so often we have a day when we make stacks of cards for what ever charity we nominate As Mr T says 'every little helps ' If you are anywhere near to Danson Park do go along and have a shufti at some of the stuff she has.Great little charity, with most of the money raised by local people, plus the show itself is well worth a look-in
Well its still blooming warm even though its almost 10.p.m.Going to be another hot sticky night again I think I'm off for a long cold drink
Night all God Bless

Evening everyone
Quick question if thats ok, so many boards was not sure where to post it lol
I bought frozen casserole steak tonight  do not ask me why , have never used it before but to Asda at 9.45 ( closed at 10) had no fresh and I got frozen lol OK I coudl ahve went in the morning but chances are I will be up about 6am and wanted to get slow cooker on.
so my question is , has anyone used frozen casserole meat and will it be ok ?
thanksTOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T0 -
Never used it - don't eat meat - but I did once upon a time cook for a living, it will be fine, especially if you are SCing it.It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Frozen meat will be ok - you will need to increase the cooking time somewhat though.
I did a quick google on this (just to see what the internet had to say about it!), and came up with this:
Frozen meat can be cooked in a slow cooker, however, it is best to use the following guidelines: Add at least 1 cup of warm liquid to the stoneware before placing meat in the stoneware. Do not preheat the slow cooker. Cook recipes containing frozen meats for an additional 4 to 6 hours on Low, or an additional 2 hours on High.
I'm thinking that the extra time needed will depend on how hot your slow cooker is cooking - I know that the low setting on my slow cooker seems to match the medium setting on my sisters. I have to admit that to save time these days, I tend to defrost/brown off any meat I want to put in my slow cooker. This is not an automated signature - I type this after every post.0
