Do you have any close friends or family who could come & house-sit for you while you are away? Maybe you won't worry too much if there is someone in the house?

Hi Floss DD1 and her BF will be here but it doesnt seem to bother them if the place is empty or not our gates were doused in white spirit whilst we were in bed so i worry about her but her BFs dad said he would deal and my mum said she would get her handyman to secure the property if there was a problem so we need to go as with all the other carp this year and having to cancel hol last year to dom rep the decision by the whole family is we should go but it wont stop me worrying

tired-mum - (((hugs))) I didn't realise you have been having such bother at home, hope everything is ok for your hols x x x

just made my scone - the new recipe didn't make sense - too little flour, far too much liquid and it was supposed to make 16 small ones - not a chance so I altered the recipe as I went. They are out now and smelling yummy but dont look as good as my usual recipe.
I'm off up the garden for tea and a scone now with DH:D

    Welcome Doelani and marchio

PP...... I am sorry to hear that you have to go back into hospital (((((Hugs))))

Redruby .......I take it that you are on the induction phase?
strawberries and cream kept me going and so did chocolate pudding (yes you heard right) here is the recipe:

    Chocolate pudding
Whip together 2tbsp of double cream, 1 tbsp of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 tsp of sweetener (preferably splenda) and a drop of vanilla essence (serves 1) :D

Raspberry mousse make up some sugar free jelly ( I use Hartleys)
and allow to partially set in the fridge whip up a tub of double cream and blend into the jelly, pop in the fridge to set (serves 4)

Another tip is to calculate a food's net carb value, look on the information box on the packet-find the total carbohydrate content and then subtract the amount of fibre.

If you need any help or some more recipes I will be glad to help, just pm me x

Not much doing today all the housework is done and I have just put the last load of washing on the line.

I had to see the doctor yesterday and she was a bit reluctant to refer me to a vascular surgeon until she has the letter from my consultant ( It has been three weeks since I saw him )But she is going to ring him and see what is going on and then she will ring me
    Honestly Doctors :wall:!

Well I am off to prepare lunch Will pop back laters Byeeee x

the chocolate pud sounds fab , i am going to try that tonight :D

a question about net carbs, I thought that the fibre was accounted for in the UK in the total carbs and it was just in the USA that you take off the fibre? I may be wrong I do know you can subtract polyols from the total carbs though ;)

I follow the American way because they have been doing it a lot longer than in the uk and that is where I get most of my meal ideas from - I made a fantastic quiche lorraine without the pastry last week - i will look out the recipe if you would like

ETA Tappers, are you sure it wasn't a drop scone recipe?

no it was supposed to be a perfect scone for a cream tea in yesterdays Mail
here's the ingredients - see what you think

4oz SR flour, 1oz unsalted butter, 1oz caster sugar, pinch baking powder and 71/2 oz milk or water.
it said it would make 16 scones with a 2 1/2" cutter.
I didn't add all the liquid and mine was very runny so I made some more mixture and added it to get the right consistency.

they were perfectly edible but not as nice looking as usual and I only got about a dozen small ones(with 8oz flour)
do you think it was a missprint?
