Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Tue 29th June. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier![*]As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.[*]When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.[*]Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good

Morning.

Day off for me, first after 7 working days :j Not back until Sat 1300.... Of course it's raining this morning , so no fishing this morning.
I have plenty to do, Probate office, assemble bee equipment, check hives, weed poly tunnel, etc etc.....
DD starts work today at Mc D's. Induction day, so she is thinking how to spend money already... her ball is on Friday, so we have that to think about too. I cannot imagine how stressed it will be if she gets married one day after just a ball plans.
Hope everyone is well....

Cheers

    Hi Guys!

Thanks for all the lovely messages yesterday.

DD didnt come in till gone 6pm, so was a very long day for her as she was up at 5am. Would have been home earlier but there was a security risk at Cannon St, so limited trains at London Bridge. She was working with the Giraffes yesterday, preparing food for the wolves/dogs and some others. She was so shattered bless her, but she loved it. Had shower, dinner, chat then bed:D. She is getting more pics today hopefully but here are a couple-there not very adventerous:rotfl::

Did her packed lunch of 2 frozen rolls, yogurt, frozen juice box, sausage roll, fruit flakes, breakaway, apple, mars bar and a bottle of iced water. Have frozen 3 more rolls that were left with butter and jam as thats what she asked for.

Have done a shop online at Mr S to get top ups and their frozen free flow minced lamb as we dont really eat minced beef, so I use this with everything I would use the beef. I had a £10 off £50 spend, so total came in at £44 inc delivery as I spent £8 on lollies:eek::eek::eek:....got some extra packed lunch stuff too. Still unable to go out really, so thought it would be easier and being delivered tomorrow.

Tonight we are having Pizza and salad and tomorrow we are having a Ploughmans with Garners pickled onions (yum)...too hot for heavy food.

WM is on as is DW. House quite clean and tidy. Lady dropping ironing off later-so think Im covered:o.....hate relying on others!

The garden is producing strawberries, onions, small spuds, salad leaves, figs and there are flowers on the chilli plants. Still growing are carroats, cauli, cabbage, blackberries, raspberries, runner beans, peas and others i cant recall.

The GP came yesterday and I have to go back into hospital. He has spoken to one of my consultants about some results and they wanted me back in hospital this friday:eek::eek::eek::eek:....I begged and pleaded that they at least let me see my DD through her work experiance as I'll be missing out on yet more of her life. They want me to have more treatment and will be in for a min of a week. I'm fed up with being pr!cked, poked and proded! Why cant they ever give me good news?

    Anyway, hope everyone is well.

    Take care.

    HI Guys

Hope you do not mind if I join in. I am really trying to get orginised and not doing to well lol

Have joined the grocery challange for July, used to do it but not for about 12 months. Going to be hard as teh number in our household goes up and down as some days have stepkids and grandson and some just hubby, son and myself.

I have tried the meal planning which worked ok but have not for 8 weeks, see I am slipping :rotfl:

My biggest problem is after 10 yeras of living somewhere with new MrT or Mr S etc I now have Mr A about a mile from me lol I think security must have me earmarked as a shoplifter I am there so often . Yesterday staff where acually saying hello, not in a " lets say hello to everyone way " but " hello, we know you " way lol I am going to try and limit Asda to every second day as believe it or not it is my closest shop even for bread and milk.

Did not sleep well last night so have a wash on and one to go in . Want to hang them out while no rain, trying to not use TD and have managed very well lol

No exciting day for me, bit of cleaning and listen to radio and thats it.

Hope everyone has a nice day

Good Morning Everyone & Welcome Doelani :hello:

(((PP))) can't wait to see more photo's

A little cooler here at the moment thankfully, ended up most of yesterday in the car and it wasn't pleasant. Good news was clean bill of health from the dentist & only £16 to pay :j

Today have a very tedious day planned - clean kitchen, hoover and wash floor then will be locking myself in my office for loads of book-keeping. Its my fault I am behind and have never been like this before so have loads to do. Will set phone to half hour reminders so won't be tempted by here and facebook :rotfl:

Think will be something easy and light for dinner, salad will definately be involved, there are so many lettuce's in the garden ready now :o

    Have a great day all.x

    Morning all,

Its a little bit cooler here today, was nice not to be so hot during the night, its meant to brighten up later on.

Going to get all the dogs beds washed this morning, and on the line. Will then carry on a bit in the spare room.

Started on the low carb thing yesterday, it was ok, but I had a funny old mixture for dinner, I need to go to the shop tomorrow, to stock up, I was desperate for something sweet last night, but could not find anything :o

Something with leftover chicken for dinner tonight, might do them a bit of mash and veg, not sure about mine yet, will have a look later.

Thanks for all the good wishes re dd's exams, she said they went quite well, will just have to wait for the results now.

Doelani, welcome, its great here xx

N9eav, hope all the plans go well xx

OK better get on, have good days all xx

    Morning all

    Great Pics PP :D
W*rk for me today although I do have a week off coming up in the middle of July, followed by a short week, then a weekend away at the beginning of August followed by a week of at home and DH is working at the Ulster Grand Prix - he'll be ready for some time without the kids by then as they break up for the holidays tomorrow!

Think I'll do ham salad wraps for my lunch and dinner is spag bol (in the fridge just to be warmed up:D)

I watched sally morgans big fat operation last night - she lost 6 stone in 14 weeks....I could use something like that!!

Blue skies again here today after some rain yesterday....have a good day whatever you're doing :D

    Hello all,
I've been reading these posts and finally registered this morning.
It's been raining quite hard here so we're off out to slug and snail hunt now.
Been eating chillis, cucumbers and salad leaves from the poly tunnel and harvesting courgettes and strawberries from the garden.
regards to all and good luck to all with exams and tests

    Good morning :D

I feel like smiling today, don't know why, but it feels good! The sun is shining, it was raining a lot last night, so my wee plants will be happy. I am finishing that bed out front today if it kills me, I am desperate to see it finished and looking nice.

My sister is coming up today to see the birthday boy, she never managed yesterday, and we were out too late on Sunday, so that's this afternoon sorted. I will make some sandwiches and HM veggie burgers and salad, might even break out the BBQ, we'll see how the time goes with the garden and housework, which I barely even touched yesterday. I got my clothes all sorted out and my new drawers (the furniture kind) into my room and organised. I have quite a bit of clothing which needs recycling, and found some things which I have barely worn, and which I hope I will be able to wear soon.

The diet didn't go yesterday. Predictably, I ate everything in sight once OH left. Well, lots of bread and some chocolate sweets. :( but today is a new day, and I'm back at it. I need to find a weigh in for tonight or tomorrow, too as I am not working Mondays during the holidays and my class is in the office.

I will be trying to sort out a mealplan tonight, and figuring out what went wrong with this month's GC, I am way way way over budget:eek:.

Hugs to all the poorlies and worried, especially to Lowesy who isn't far from my thoughts these days, hope you and OH are OK honey.

We had rain overnight, hooray, no watering today. I have a load of washing to put out, will be doing that in a mo. OH had a fall yesterday, but seems ok this morning, his bootlace broke and he stood on it, he was carrying 2 full buckets of water at the time, most of it ended up on him!!

    morning all!

thankyou for all the good wishes for DS yesterday :T- it was a bit of an anticlimax as the tutor wasn't in due to a family member being rushed to hospital so now it is going to be Thursday. It gives him a bit longer to make sure everything is done properly.

have got 2 days off now -:j am more than ready for them after a particularly trying weekend at work.

    Plans for today are

    haircut
    usual housework and washing
    hedge cutting/gardening
make some scones(got a new recipe to try)
go and see Mum who is back after a week away in Devon

(((hugs))) to PP - sorry you've got to go into hosptal again. Lovely photos - how fantastic being able o get so close to the animals.

JackieG and Redruby - good luck with the diets

    welcome to doelani and marchio:hello:

I hope everyone has a great day , take care x
