Managed not to spend anything today and i made myself jacket potatoes for tea. I picked some sugar snap peas from the garden and they accompanied my spuds. Yum! For lunch i had a cheese and onion sarny.

Rosieben - hugs for you and your family.

My target for the month was £450, and with 3 days to go I have spent £340! This includes a big Mr S order yesterday that really could have waited for next week only the cat food offer ended this week. Some of this is due to the June overspend, but we have also had a lot of rubber chicken. The co-op have yet again been a great source of RTC stuff so the chicken stash remains stable.

I need to start running the freezer down to make space for the fruit and veg glut from the garden.

rosieben - sorry to hear of your loss.

I'm declaring at £79.80 this month which is way over budget, however I do have a good stash of cleaning materials and storecupboard ingredients. I think it'll be a storecupboard/freezer challenge for me in August.

Not long got back from my holiday and I thought I'd best update my sig for July.

In my last week I spent £33.09, bringing my total for July to £110.98 out of a £160 budget. :j Money spent on holiday came out of my holiday budget.

    August is a 5 weekend month for me, so that's 5 x £40 = £200.

I haven't double checked but am pretty sure I have gone over budget for this month! DP is terrible for not keeping receipts and paying cash grrrrr. Also, had to re-arrange finances last week due to a debt changing payment date so have ended up doing two big shops in one month instead of the usual one! Still, I think August's budget should be £250 as we have family staying and DP is at home on his holidays....jelous? me?! NO!

I have not declared for July yet as still have a few more days but my budget is looking good. It has made such a difference being part of the grocery challenge as when I go shopping I make sure I have a list and try to stick to it as much as possible. I also have less food waste and am getting better at using up leftovers.:j

Please can you put me down for £300 for August this is a drop of £50 so hopefully I can rise to the challenge.

Good luck to everyone this month

Well July was a disaster for us, totally overspent and overdrawn. Putting it behind us and starting again for August with a grocery budget of £350 for two adults and one hungry pre-teen boy

Mrs M please could you put me finishing July on £210 from a budget of £200 and my Budget for August taking into account toiletries and clothes as £250. Thank you I was missing fiorm your list nd really want too take part as I am finding it very useful. :)

Will be looking at Rosiebens receipes too and am very sorry to hear of loss.

On bright note have a meal out with relatives sat and sun so cheap days : )

My puppy is growing and keeps eating the lawn but at least is leaving my lettuce alone which is now doin really well along with courgettes and green beans. Just as well as trying to save spending money for holidays in September.
Unfortunately out on the road yesterday so had to add spends to my list boo hoo but did find a bargain in asda of a face wash for £1.03 and a facial scrub £1.03... tried last night and works like a dream.. I do like these bargain products and regret the days I wasted money on Clarins!

At least today should be a NSD day... shopping day tomorrow but sending OH as he is better at sticking too list and always spends less.

Tip for today - get your petrol at MR M no only is it cheaper currently £1.15 for diesel (being on road I watch the prices!) but you get a morrisons miles and when you get to 500 you get a £5 voucher to spend in store. Got my first one yesterday... unfortunately Mr T is alot more expensive for diesel and Mr A does not give me any benefits and Mr S does not have one near me!!!

Offski now - here is too frugal savings and I hope my tips help
