Hi folks
Just posting totals and declaring for July:
£478-79 which is £128.79 overbudget! I grossly underestimated how much DD1 would eat! (And I thought it was only teenage boys who had hollow legs!) Also it is a month of celebrations of one sort or another. And I did have 16 NSDs - which I think is a record for me!
Anyway, I am going to increase my budget for August because although we are on holiday for a week there is still an extra mouth to feed and we have rellies coming to visit. Mrs M - can you put me down for £450 for August please?
Thanks everyone and keep up the good work.

Another 5.18 for me at co-op
white vinigar-75p-need for chutney
milk 4pint semi-1.53

reduced warbertons seed bread mini loaf 55p
All I could afford so will have to get bread mix out tonight and make a few loaves.
dads expecting more chutney tommorow hence bvinigar plus got to use up a mango and make mango chutney for hubby as that saves him buying a jar next time we go shopping.
depressing how far a fiver dont go.
cheapest I found milk is 1.09 in lidls or 2 for 2quid.
wanted to get cocoa powder for choc brownies
another pack of eggs
some cherry tomatoes and red onions
apples
ham
but fell short by 5quid very frustrating.
I feel sure will meet budget in august as had to buy lots of storecupboard basics but if im making chutneys and jams should be fine.

£2.09 spent today on micropore tape. Not really groceries, but will include it. Had to go to the doctors yesterday as had some pain in my foot which i'd been ignoring for a day or two. The nurse re-dressed my foot so the tape is to secure the dressing as it's a bit loose. I'm glad I was nagged to go nowGrocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

Hi All,
Apologies for not checking in for a while, i wll be better in august! Speaking of which - Can you please put me down for £50 please Mrs M,
It seems dauntingly low, but i have absolutely loads (50ish) batch cooked meals in the freezer - 12 pints of milk, my store cupboards are full and i have bread mix / flour and crackers. I have plenty of veg in the freezer and dads garden is giving me more. . .
Just in need of a cheap month as car failed its MOT - so costly and car tax due... i will be getting her thru her MOT, taxing her and selling her for a cheaper model (sound a little like a man now) haha -
Good luck for august all!

Morning all
Spent £10.43 yesterday on packed lunch stuff (rolls, crisps, fig rolls and bakewell tarts - went to the big city for a mooch round Camden market) and some reduced sausages. I'm going to try not to spend any more over the next 2 days - it should be possible as I have enough stuff around.
gailey - at first I thought I would increase my August budget for the school hols but then I remembered I was skint so I'm actually going to reduce it to £400 and try and manage. I really need the money for more day trips this month and DS's 16th birthday (l*ptop:eek::eek::eek:) in September so I've got to be strict on food.
So off to make a plan for the next two days (my limit for planning at the moment - part of the problem) and see how we go!August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
Am declaring on £77.98 for July, just squeezed under.
Had a look at my spreadsheet & my last shopping trip was the 10th, so i've managed nearly 3 weeks without going to the supermarket and lived off the contents of the freezer & cupboards. (fortunately i don't eat much bread and i stocked up on milk as the Cravenda1e was on special offer and has a really long shelf life).
Looking at my shopping it was fruit & veg which accounted for most of my budget, that's even buying whoopsie's. Hopefully should be better next month as Mum & dad's allotment is starting to crop so will probably be living on courgettes & runner beans!!:rotfl:"A bargain is something you can't use at a price you can't resist."
