I only bought some milk on Friday and nothing yesterday so I'm declaring at £498.44 for July. Overspend of £58.44.
This is OK as it is all stuff I needed and we have a few meals to start us off in Aug.
I'm carrying my overspend over to Aug but I did underspend generally by £16.05 so I will take this off - so I've lost about 1/8 of my food budget already
I'll just have to hope that August is a hot month and people can't be bothered with food!

    Morning All,

I should have posted yesterday but spent most of day in bed with raging headache, backache, upset tummy, and bunged up to the eyeballs. Trying to work out if this is some bug or just my body saying ok now we can have a right old moan after keeping going for ages without a break! Still feeling pretty gross this morning too but at least I have a good few weeks to get some R & R.

Please Mrs M may I declare at £187.16 for July, thank you.

I would have sneaked another NSD but OH kindly bought me some lovely Welsh cakes from the local deli which stymied that idea. Oh well, we hit the target anyway and came in well under budget so I mustn't complain.

We're sticking at the regular budget for August but I will reduce it come September as we have luckily come under our budget since starting in March. Pretty amazing when I consider that back then spending was completely out of controol and we were regularly exceeding £600 per month!

We have all you lovely people on here to thank for getting us on a straight and narrow path where not once in those months have I felt we 'lacked' anything or were 'deprived' of anything. So a huge thank you to everyone on here. :A

See you all on the August thread.

    Take care,
    Spigs

I aimed to spend as little as possible and did fairly well - staples, ingredients to finish off freezer recipes, a few reductions, storecupboard items for winter and essential health costs (£9.30). £49.40 approx. but obviously not all used this month. The challenge enabled me to explore reasons for spending habits and thus an attempt to find a better lifestyle.

Declaring July as overbudget for the 3rd month this year.

My target was £106, but while I only physically spent £101.71 I also used £7 of stuff I had in at the end of last year - so declaring at £108.81

Ended June £35.37 over my year to date target, and have ended July £38.08 over - so I have some serious work to do in order to end the year on/under budget. Not sure how August will hold up as DS is home full-time, but am hoping to really claw back overspends from September onwards as I'll just have me to cater for then (and have already stockpiled on loads of offers that I enjoy and DS won't touch ready for after he moves out ;))
