Homemade Jam - I've made the odd jar in the past with fruit from the Garden and the Jam has been eaten almost straight away but now I have an Allotment I've been making loads of Jars of Jam which we will use and I have given some away but I will still have loads left - how long does Home-made Jam keep? So far I've made Raspberry, Tayberry and Blackcurrant Jam and I've also made various puddings, Blackcurrant Crumble, Raspberry Pavlova and there is still more Fruit to pick.
Trying to think when I made them......
I know it wasn't last year, so probably 2008 - but it's possible it was even 2007. Really must start labelling things (and including dates) when I make themCheryl0 -
Added up weekend receipts to £12.51 so updated sig.
Bought some smoked haddock for a kedgeree tonight and 2 punnets of fresh raspberries. May try and bake meringues if I have time.
Hope everyone is having a good monday.:)

Well we ended up spending money at the weekend, not sure how much as OH yet to tell me. Will add the figure asap.
Anyways, I'm back on track today, i think.
Got three loaves rising, one carrot bread and dough sorted for the calzones. So fingers crossed will only need milk, tuna and salad stuff for pack lunches.
Still need to make a meal plan, but were slowly using everything up, so its all good.0 -
Hiya all,
Well, I managed it again, went round A's with the calculator and stopped when it reached £35 so on target again this week. Not had any other spends either for last week. So far £70/210.
I think all you people who do such a lot of baking and batch cooking are great, wish I could do it. I can't bake full stop, though I did do my shepherds pies last week and put 3 extra in the freezer, in little foil trays. I'm off work next week so going to really try and practice this baking lark. I must be able to produce something edible.:D0
