  • Good afternoon everyone,
had planned to buy bread, milk and breakfast cereal today but drove past shop and will just have to wait until tomorrow. Have enough to see me through till then but will be a close run thing.
Have taken pork out of freezer for tonights dinner. Have some left over potatoes from yesterday which I will fry up and serve with mixed vegetables and gravy. Bit of a hotchpotch but it will be o.k. I hope.
Weather here, at last stopped raining, thank goodness. Hoping to spend some time in the garden tomorrow and plant some more salad leaves.

Afternoon/evening all :) Just reporting in that I've had my fifth NSD in a row! Yes, I too am in a state of shock. That's probably the longest I've gone without shopping. I'm particularly noticing I don't buy stuff to snack on on the way to work (grumble-grumble over-priced station shop) and my waistline has shrunk a bit too! Tea tonight is a chilli con carne I found in the bottom of the freezer (at least it has beans in it and is vaguely orangey-red so I'm assuming that's what it is ;) ) and some sauteed potatoes. Unless I chicken out and go and get chips from the chippy - must not think chipshop thoughts!

    Have a nice evening, everyone.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday were all NSDs for me.

Had a couple of D/Debits go out of my bank today, so - as I'm including these as a spend for the NSD challenge - I checked if we needed any groceries (next D/Deb is Thursday, so wanted to be sure we have everything until then).

Before I went to work everything looked reasonable, but by the time I got home to make a sandwich in my lunch-break DS had also been at the loaf - and there wasn't a great deal left.

So as I left work I picked up a loaf of bread, and - as I was already spending - I then went and checked the Whoopsies.

Too early for anything exciting from the bakery, don't need anything from fishmongers' section, nothing worth having/that I'd use in butchers' sections, so last stop was the general chilled.

Picked up a large tub of cheese & onion sandwich filler ([strike]£1.95[/strike] 39p), a pack each of sliced beef ([strike]£1.99[/strike] 45p) and turkey ([strike]£1.49[/strike] 35p) for sandwiches, and a large tub of raspberry organic bio-live yoghurt ([strike]£1.59[/strike] 39p)

    Total spend of £2.33 - including £1.58 on Whoopsies worth £7.02 :T

Spent £6.48 today on bits and pieces so wil not spend anymore on food this week until Friday and will stick to the list rigidly. Ran out of natural yoghurt this morning to eat for breakfast - and called into the little Sainsbugs on the way home and mooched around buying a few things, then called in at Mr A to get a few photos developed and then thought *** it, I'll pick up a ready meal for tea as it was already late due to the queue at the photo shop.

Lesson learnt - come home, eat tea then go. Don't call into mini supermarket on way home when walking past as remember - don't need anything

  • Hi All,
Been a very busy weekend over here!
Had a works garden party on saturday, but also had dad at my flat doing some work, so a spend on groceries - 50p on a fresh crusty loaf for lunch, then got fed at work :) - Sunday spent the day decorating the study, and stopped rather late so it was just some cheese and crackers for tea... still a NSD on groceries :) - on anything in fact!
Today was payday, so in a bit i will add up all the reciepts and see what i spent for the 4 weeks, and today was also another NSD - i was finishing up bits int he kitchen and study - curtains/ shelves etc, and didnt stop til 9.30 - then went to make soup - but got so hungry while the lentils and other goodies were absorbing stock, that i had toast with choc spread, and then wasnt hungry for soup... at least i have soup made for a couple of lunches! :) silver linings and all. lol.
I will start following my meal plan! i will i will i will, at least i resisted the lure of the captains chicken takeaway tonight when i returned dads tools!
Meal plan for remainder of week!

Tues - L = Tuna salad, D = Steak and cous cous stuffed peppers with roasted tomatoes.
    Weds - L = Veggie Soup, D = HM fishcakes and veggies
Thurs - L = Veggie Soup, D = HM Chicken and chick pea curry & HM Wedges
Fri - L = Veggie Soup, D = Chilli Con Carne and Rice
Sat - L = Eat out ( at Royal air tattoo for day), D = ??? Depends on time we get back
Sun - L = Cheese and crackers, D = Salmon and noodles with brocolli.

Hopefully will stick to it, and dont actually need to buy anything! Will update NSD's when i go thru the receipts!

    Have a good tuesday :)

Making Lamb Koftas for dinner tonight as I found some Lamb mince lurking at the bottom of the Freezer - trying to use what we have in store as determined not to go over Budget.

    Have a good day everyone.:D
