Hi everyone, all behind again with everything!! MRS McC I have bust my annual budget and am now up to a terrible £1329!!! could you please update my record with this amount, thank you.

Must try harder.....I have decided not to actually set myself another extra budget for the rest of the year, I'm just going to see how far over I go and how low I can keep it. If I come under or close to my annual amount for last year I will be happy.

At least there are alot of things available on the veg plot now, so trying to keep my shopping to a minimum. NSD today hopefully. Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Just popping on to update spends again, currently up to £141.71 which is higher than I'd like for this point in the month... The silly thing is that I have grossly full freezers and storecupboards but utterly bl00dy DH wont eat any of it  How do the rest of you manage when your careful meal planning goes to pieces? I've had a few days of doing separate meals but that's not a long term solution.

Well done! We had the first of our new potatoes on Sunday and last night my DS was eating the few peas we've had so far straight from the pod! It's such a good feeling to harvest your own produce. :D

Well, spent a bit today. I realised that I only had portion of porridge oats left (which I cannot do without for my breakfast!) and OH only had 1 yogurt left for his packups. There were also other things that will run out in the next week so I'd thought I would go today as I will try to keep shopping to a minimum after the kids break up which is on Friday here.

So I spent £42 in Tescos which included £10 on some beers, £3 in Iceland on some bread & a pizza and £23 in Sainsburys. I did have a £5 Morrisons vouchers but the things I wanted were actually cheaper in Tescos so for once I didn't mind going there. I noticed that the price of things is definitely going up. I always used to get 4 Cadbury desserts for £2.50 and in both Tescos and Sainsburys today they had gone up to 4 for £3 so I didn't get any. I bet my kids and OH's boys won't be happy cos they all tend to have one every night but as they are now 75p each so potentially £3 a night, I now begrudge paying for them and besides they could probably have a bar of chocolate every night cheaper than that! (Although OH's kids often have that on top of their desserts anyway.)

If I could just get some NSDs in then I still have a little hope that I could actually do it this month. OH's payday is the 26th.

  • spend day today - had to get dh suit from the dry cleaners (off to a wedding this wekend without the kids:j) popped into co-op and got bananas, milk for the kids, whopsied grapes and potatoes for tomorrows cottage pie - £4.70. I then realised I couldn't get in the kitchen as the window fitter is in there today and had no lunch prepared:mad: so bought a £2 prawn salad but when she scanned it through she only charged my £1.50

will have to be a spend day tomorrow aswell unless I can convince DH to pick up yogurts on his way home as I forgot them today!

Put off getting the potatoes and milk yesterday so that resulted in a NSD but have had to go today and brought a few other things as well. After taking off what the cost of mums shopping was I spent £30.03 but £10 of this was for a large bunch of flowers for a friend who did us a big favour at the weekend and am not going to count this - so £20.03 to add to total. Not got a lot left for this month but hoping for a NSD tomorrow and Thursday we are being taken out for a meal by some other friends as a thank you from them for something we did to help them. Will have to buy some drinks but DH will pay so it wont come from GC money

Shopping on Friday and will have to try to be extra careful as only £68 left to last till Wednesday a.m. :(

I must use some of what I have in the freezers.

    I must ………. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Two large freezers and they are BOTH full and I will still spend a fortune at the shops!!!
Just made some leek and potato soup and also got some potatoes boiling for cheese & potato pie to have with some lamb chops and green beans tonight. Have changed the meal plan around a bit. The lamb chops are actually out of the freezer. :T
Hope everyone is doing well and learning valuable lessons if they are not. ;)

Went to Mr M today with my £5 off if you spend £40 and managed to stick very closley to list so got loads for 40.47. Cant physically fit anything else in my freezer and cupboards pretty full so if stick to meal plan should not need anything for the next week. OH is off work for his summer leave so he may ruin my careful planning as he just eats all the time when off work:mad:. Past half way in budget and not halfway in month, really have to be good to make it this month.

How about if you were to get a chocolate trifle mix, i think they are about £1 - and would last two or three evenings? its what i do now for work, make some up in little lidded pots and take them with me for lunch, or make your own with jelly and angel delight. Has saved me some money.

Hey all! £20 spent today on my August challenge- I got some lovely treats in M & S and some doves farm bread flour from the health shop. I was gutted though- the lovely greengrocers I had near me has had to close as the man who owned it is really poorly. Supposedly he was crying at the thought of giving up his shop :( I love that shop! For the ten years I have been here I have used it.... everyone who goes there has said it's such a shame! My thoughts go out to that lovely man!
Anyway, a nice dinner tonight of asparagus quiche and trifle for desert!

Have a good day all :)
