I read some where on the forums about chilli vodka. I'd really like to make some for my dad but don't know where to start, can anyone help? I 'm guessing you don't cut up the chillis so am I supposed to just put one in the bottle? Plus how long do I leave it in there for? Or does it just stay in it??0

2 fat red chillies - (need spare for when rebottling)
1 litre vodka
Method-- Slice the chillies and mix with the vodka in a large bottle or jug. Leave for 4-5 hrs. Strain out the chillies and pour back into a bottle to store until needed. Just before giving away, decant into smaller glass bottles, pop a whole chilli in each and label.

Thanks for the vodka ideas guys
I made blackberry vodka with the blackberries I picked a few weeks ago and the boyf experimented with haribo cherries and cola bottles, which has formed a gross looking jelly mush! :eek:0 -
hi all
i had my first kind of failure last weekend. I made pear and pineapple jam and it failed to set! However it made tons and so I am just going to call it a coulis or something for puddings etc!!! i'm sure i will still get some abuse from the family but as they haven't bothered to make anything I'm still the better one :P!
im just going to make a couple of chutneys and some pickled onions and then i'm pretty much set this year. Also going to make some sweeties nearer the time for people. i got plums for 2pound for 2kg last week so making plum sauce this weekend as well. fingers crossed everyone will be greatful for their gifts!Crafting for 2009 items doneOne patchwork blanket, two neck supports, one tea cosy, one knitted bunny, one knitted egg!0 -
If all goes to plan doing the vodka 2mor, - be toffee, pear-drop, kola-cubes and raspberry.
Then make some more mince pies, looking forward to it xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Hi all
Enjoyed reading your posts, never heard of pear and pinneapple combination before.
What happened to your b/f's slush, did you throw it out Stacey?
Mum2one, how big is your freezer for all those mince pies? Mine is full already with all the fruit, so no idea where I'll put any Christmas food0 -

Hey guys I LOVE the Apple Sourz and Apple Mickey Finns! Just wondering if I could do something like that with Vodka but what to use? Umm I dont know any apple sweets really! Any ideas? I have a small red skittle vodka resting in the cupboard, only 50ml, just to try because I have a huge 1 litre bottle to do something with!:xmassmile**New** Thrifty Gifty Money Making for Christmas and all occasions 2012**:xmassmileMember No. 11 of Happy Chappy's Clip Strip Club!
