If you were wanting delivery to a hospital I think you should have gone with Interflora in the first place.
Interflora is a network of florists where a local florist delivering direct to a ward in a hospital should be no problem (including same day).
This company you bought from is a mail order company. The mail order company will pass the flowers to a courier for delivery which is ok for home deliveries but when they get to the hospital they may have to hand over the the flowers with all the other packages for the Hospital internal mail system to deliver.
You phone them at 7.30pm on a Friday I am not supprised they can't investigate until Monday as the courier they used may be closed on the weekend. You starting small claims court actions is not going to help matters until they can find out what has happened to the flowers.
If I was giving birth I wouldn't want people rushing me same day flowers and mail order gifts, (just sign here please). I would prefer if they waited until I had got home and was more relaxed, receiving a bunch during the week after giving birth saying congratulations on the birth would be much nicer, I would have vases available etc.0 -

Hindsight is wonderful, I thought I was buying from Asda a reputable company. You are right about buying from a mail order company but all the major retailers ie M & S, Sainsburys, Waitrose, Tesco have the same set up and only offer next day 'cos they ship them out via DHL, Parcelforce etc. I wanted a next day delivery that is why I ordered them before their 3pm deadline Thursday for delivery Friday - I then phoned them at 7.30pm Friday because they had not fulfilled their side of the bargain. Incidentally Parcel Force do deliver Saturday, by then these idiots knew anyway that they had taken my money but not processed the order so the talk of investigation and courier was a smokescreen.
As regards sending the flowers a week after the birth thats personal choice, my friend was very happy to get them when she finally did and they came complete with a vase and teddy bear.
I'm amazed at the mugs on this forum splitting hairs and sticking up for shoddy second rate service. The main point is I paid for next day delivery, they failed and refused any alternative means to rectify the situation. Bunch of wasters, hit them where it hurts and it might improve their service for future customers0 -

you sound vex man0 -
Any solicitor would laugh at you if you took this to them without allowing the company time to investigate what happened. Yes you are mad and have every right to be, the service is appauling, but there's no need to spit your dummy out and threaten them with legal action before they can even investigate.:A I love MSE!!! :A0

I don't want an investigation they admitted my money had been takenn but order not on their system. What I wanted was flowers delivered yesterday - they knew my threat and were unwilling to stump up the £45 to Interflora I paid and got the flowers delivered. They now face the consequences of not rectifying the error they caused themselves.
I'm not going to a solicitor its a DIY job on https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco2/index.jsp dead easy it will cost me £30 to get the £300 I will claim from them
Any rogue trader will laugh when they see you coming along. There's one born every minute0 -
Why claim £300 pound though?Weight Loss - 102lb0

Yes, why claim £300?
Oh and threatening legal action from the word go will only make the company representative less likely to help you.0 -
Oh god I bet your hellish to work or live with.
How the heck do you expect £300 from a £30 sale?! If I was a judge I'd simply pay you back the £30 and be done with it. While I agree it was time sensitive I think your being far to OTT with this. Personally I'd be happy with the £30 back and possibly a bit more to cover the interflora costsSave a life. Learn emergency first aid.

Contact your local college or first aid provider to enquire about free courses in your area.
Already a first aider? Have you updated your first aid to the new 2005 guidelines? Most providers should now be training the new (and more effective) CPR protocols, see if they are offering refresher courses near you.0 -

Thats your informed opinion, their "representative" wouldn't help me and gave the same response to Asda Customer Services. I'm claiming £300 to cover my time, phone calls, hurt feelings etc exactly what I was awarded against Homebase for their refusal to sort out another small fifty quid matter - plus court fees0
