I think it was the first episode of DIY SOS this week that woke me up and realised that if there are only 4 programmes of the BIG BUILD that Mike's house will be on soon.

Ooo, I'm getting all excited now!

It is sooooo lovely to see some of our regulars back posting :D

Hope you have all had a good summer and are waiting with bated breath for our screening :j Can hardly wait myself even if some others want to leave the country :rotfl: I suspect that a lot of what they filmed will have ended up on the cutting room floor and some of us will still be able to go out in public without being hassled by the crowds :p

Not you though Mike, you had better keep a pen handy for all those autograph hunters :D

Hi MW and welcome back! Real life indeed! Tut Tut! Everyone who's anyone know's that MSE is real life! lol

Glad you enjoyed your stay in Spain, but glad you're back too.

I missed the DIY SOS Big Build programme last week/weekend (whenever it was on), mom told me about it so I watched it on iplayer. She always buys a tv guide and had a look to see when it's on again - she couldn't find it listed and it wasn't listed in the same slot as the last one so who know's when the next one will be on?!

We'll all have to keep an eye out for it but I'm guessing Mike should get some advanced warning shouldn't he?

Hope all are well, I'm off to bed now.

Good night all and speak again soon.

    Poo

Just checked the BBC DIY SOS website and the only programmes coming up are a Big Build in Haydock to be shown on 4th Sept and last week's Big Build in Wales showing in Scotland on 5th Sept.

I'm sure we all appreciate what the DIY SOS team have done but what's with the BBC p1ssing around with the screening schedules? Grrr....

TYPICAL us poor things that live in Scotland have to wait to see the blooming programme,:mad::mad: I will not be coming on the site when I know Mikes house is to be on, you will all spoil the surprise for me, nattering on about the wonderful skip bath in the bathroom etc!!!. Hope its not on when we are down south at the end of this month, I will be severely p***** off if it is. I intend to record it for posterity........;)to remind me when I have a bad day with the cottage, that there are people who WERE worse off but now have a lovely new house to enjoy, and he really deserves it after all he has been through.

I have just had 5 weeks of the house like a tip, our landlord took out the old multi fuel stove and surround by taking a sledge hammer to it....:eek:we then had to wait for the new stove to be fitted, and more insulation in the roof. We are now waiting for the plaster behind the new stove to dry out so we can paint the wall and strip the paper, replace it and then paint the whole sitting room......might be finished this time next year with a following wind!! By which time doubtless something else will need doing.......hey ho......:rotfl::rotfl:

Lovely day today, cannot sit outside the biters are biting, and its me they bite despite using the Avon oil, think I am going to have to smother myself in tiegr poo or something................

That will make you MUCH more attractive to the blighters!!! I suppose if you have a thick enough layer, they won't get through! :rotfl: Shame about the Avon oil...it certainly seems to work with our family, and in different countries too.

Sympathise about the different timings of the TV shows...Dad is forever talking about a programme "on last night", and we haven't had it down here, or it was aired months ago!! Then there is the fun of catching up with the different series of NCIS, as there are at least two different channels showing it!! Still, we will eventually see all of them (at least twice :o)!

I must mosey on over and catch up with the DIY SOS that have been shown so far, doing a good job of missing lots of progs I want to watch lately...thank goodness for i-player :)

Can't wait to see the Dolls House in all it's glory though!!

Morning all. If you have a Sky box it is possible to find alternative regional programmes such as Scotland/Northern Ireland/London by searching for the programme then selecting the regional version of BBC1.

    All clear?

    OK, back to bed.

Hi one and all - sorry I have not posted for some time, but it has been a poo of a summer. I have been nursing and caring for a very dear friend who finally went into hospital 3 weeks ago and then moved to a Hospice over a week ago. Sadly she lost her short fight for life yesterday. A great deal to organise now with her funeral and the sorting of her estate - and this is all whilst working as well. So need some time for myself in a short time - sorry if that sound selfish. Saw the DIY SOS with the family whose children had been living with grandparents and that was brill, but can't wait for Mike's. Well off to bed shortly to catch up with some sleep. Spent two nights at the Hospice in a chair! Take care you all Billie xx

    Hi Billie

So sorry to hear about your friend, I am sure she was grateful for everything you did for her but there are still going to be very difficult times ahead for you.

If there is anything I can do to help or you need an ear please let me know.

And there really is nothing wrong with needing time for yourself!

    Sleep well
