That episode was on last Thursday, and very good it was too!

The kids had been living at the Grand Parents as the house was in such a mess. They told them they were only doing the kitchen but would try to do the lounge if they had time.

They did the whole house including a loft conversion

Lots of tears at the end.

I'm OK, although it's true that one doesn't 'recover' overnight from years of carp. I hadn't realised this but someone kindly PMd me and it all suddenly made sense. I don't really yet accept what has happened - it's all too big for my weedy little brain. I've had some bad days with the old depression and I have felt ungrateful and undeserving of what I've had. I've watched other shows and felt nothing, then it sinks in and I feel very emotional. I find it very difficult watching makeover programmes and definitely anything about people being ripped off.

I'm happy to see that the show may be aired soon. It seems most unlikely! I can't imagine what it will be like seeing it all. I have watched the show since it started and never seen an episode that wasn't funny and sad and happy and emotional and to be up there going through it all and seeing the team messing about in my own house will be too weird for words!

I'm sorry I haven't been able to appear on here much of late. It's all felt too much and there's only so many things I can say. I hope a bunch of us have become good friends and will keep in contact, although maybe not on here. I feel very close to the people who helped me through the past months. PM me for my e-mail address if you haven't got it and want to keep in touch.

I'm eating better (freezer and oven=good) washing things that are barely dirty, and getting used to passers-by making comments about the house and pressing their noses against my kitchen window to have a pipe at the inside. I'm going to be very happy here. It's all so well done and everything works and that's too much to accept in one go. I probably won't understand how huge all this has been until after the show goes out. I must have got used to steeling myself against each new bit of trouble. It's difficult to accept things have been good for so long.

I just want to put my arms around you and give you the biggest hug!

There's no denying that you've had some right poo (the nasty, brown, smelly stuff not my darling little cat poo) hurled your way but you have dealt with it with such dignity and humour and you've shown an inner strength which you have shared with us throughout this part of your life journey.

I, for one, am so grateful that you helped me to overcome my fears of the world and people outside of my own small life. It was you, not your plight, that touched something deep inside of me, you inspired me to leave my safe shelter and meet lots of beautiful people and you are included in that.

I'm sure I'm not the only one you touched (Oi! Not that kind of touching Psycho!).

You truly deserve the home you wished for.

Poo so lovely to see your name, hope that you are doing well it was indeed a lovely speech and yes mike has helped so many of us meet greet talk share laugh and get through some of the long days and its been a nice journey i for one am so looking forward to the show and i hope SB is back soon i imagine shes busy with school holidays and so fourth how i miss the banter it seems to have quietend down, im mid diy so im having fun lol xxx

Hi Happy, I must admit I haven't been popping in as much as I should have. I will try to get on here more often and post too!

I've been busy with my new job, had some family business to sort out, trying to work on my garden (scary) and spending some time on other areas of MSE and the net.

Hope all are well anyway, must get back on to the Greenfingered board, I have so much to learn about growing stuff rather than killing it.

Hmm, maybe I should market myself as an environmentally friendly weedkiller, I'm sure if I was told to look after a weed it would die.

Thanks for your message. I am covering my blushes with an attempt at humour, but I will copy it to a folder on my PC for stuff that I want to keep. (Not THAT one - that's just for photos. Another one)

Hi everyone I'm back. Been lurking of course, but the previous months were so intensive and I seemed to spend most of the day on the computer to the detriment of my social life and life in general. So it was no computer and welcome life for a while.

Spent a lovely week in Spain with Donnygal and husband, lots of sunshine and sangria. Watched the World Cup final in a Spanish Bar and I was supporting Holland - bags of laughs - poor Holland.

Had family from Holland to stay for a week. Enjoyed it loads.

I think it was the first episode of DIY SOS this week that woke me up and realised that if there are only 4 programmes of the BIG BUILD that Mike's house will be on soon. When I tried to Sky Plus it for a series it didnt accept it. I can only assume that the episodes will be strung out whenever. Guess one of us will rumble it.

Lovely to be back and love to all of Mike's Mob, happy memories, new friends and a T Shirt in my wardrobe that reminds me of that week. Then of course there are the photos and the ...................
well you all know what I mean.....
