Not posted on this thread for a while because I have been ill with depression and life has gotten in the way. I am pleased to say that things are looking up and I am getting better:cool: Thanks to my parents I may soon have a little home to live in rent free although I would pay all the bills and look after it - that is going through at the moment and is a bit of a pain, why do vendors have to be awkward? My divorce is going through - I have more papers to sign and send to the court before the Decree Nisi is granted. Things are looking more positive on the job front - I am still looking but now I am starting to get interviews.

Butti - I nearly fell off the chair laughing at your lodger, have you thought of having a separate diary on the Housing Board so that we can all be regaled with tales of what she has been up to. This could be like Badger Lady's one where she talks about her wierd and wonderful lodgers:D I wonder what your lodger would do if you started cooking pork sausages and leaving sausages in the fridge?

This little house has a spare bedroom which I could rent out but I really don't think I shall because a lodger would drive me nuts:eek:

Glad things are starting to look better on the jobs front. I feel they are for me too, although I don't know why I feel that. My part of the country is still a jobs disaster. Just applied for a job about 250 miles away which is adequate distance from my father. He tries to be helpful but isn't.
I said to my brother yesterday 'He wouldn't suggest a part-time caretaking job for you'.
My brother, 'No but I'm sure he'd still find something highly inappropriate'.
Me 'Do you think I should take the caretaking job?'
Him 'Do you want a caretaking job?'
    Me 'No'
Hence I have applied for a job developing social housing rather than caretaking (I apologize if you are visiting a parks centre soon and feel the urinals need a good scrub!)

I will start a diary once I get a job and my debts start decreasing. Feel I am sending the wrong message if I'm on every few days reporting on an increasing debt mountain in my living room!

p.s. Time to go. Dissertation to write and I can hear a large slab of cake in the library calling me!

Our library used to have a sad little cafe in the corner of the ground floor and the computers in a medium room upstairs. It's been revamped. Now the whole upper floor is computers apart from a wee reference section and they have a Starbooks with cake, big cake. It's marvellous and the cafe trade must be about 3000% more.

  • Hello you quiet lot! Hope all is well.

I've spoken to SB today as she emailed me and mentioned PPI so I rang her about it... she is trying to reply to all emails, it's just taking her a long time :) She sends her love to all. xx

I have an interview at a recruitment agency on Monday, I've mostly decided to take the plunge and look upon my ear troubles as a sign to move onwards and upwards (or back to earth in my case!). I'm sad about it as I worked my last flight without realising it, and will almost definitely lose touch with a lot of people. Change is in the air there though, so I think it will soon be a lot different. Maybe now is the right time to make a change.

I'm living with Mr S now, and the contract on the old house ends early next month so it will be official

    Och brilliant PS...

I'm feeling pretty pants. Now have tactile hallucinations to add to my woes and feeling pretty tired and just lethargic....

Anyhow try and stay awake today (didn't have much sleep night before last - as proved by early am wake up call to sis) and go from there. Have applied for a couple of jobs one of which I really want so here's hoping :)....

Lovely weather by the way folks. Just wish I didn't have these tactile hallucinations

Good luck with that, hon. Is it too late to ask you (my now ex-aviation expert) what 'doors to manual' means? Great to hear Mr S has turned into Mr Right.

Not a great day for me. I was supposed to be going to Belfast next week and had booked my flights. Now told I'm going to Carlisle and to book my train tickets. No refund on Easyjet I believe?

The lodger has cooked something in somethings stomach today. Was very close to throwing up from the smell so went out to get a Chinese.

I think it's just means to unlock them so the slide doesn't blow when the doors open... however we don't actually say that! :)

    .

I'm not too sure, but I would think if it's just because you are going somewhere else then no... can't you claim it from whoever told you you were going to belfast?

can't remember if i said, but very very sadly, a schoolfriend of mine's brother was killed in a motorbike accident a week ago :( every now and then i remember and think of my friend and his family. it's so sad :(
