Really sorry to hear that, psych. It's dreadful knowing someone that close who died, let alone losing a family member. Just do what you can for your friend, although I am sure you already are. Best wishes.

If it's best for you it will happen. Lots of variables and if you don't get it, it's probably for the best. Maybe the next offer will be more fun and better paid. Fingers crossed for you of course.

Not a great day for me. I was supposed to be going to Belfast next week and had booked my flights. Now told I'm going to Carlisle and to book my train tickets. No refund on Easyjet I believe?

The lodger has cooked something in somethings stomach today. Was very close to throwing up from the smell so went out to get a Chinese.

!!!!!! is in Carlisle anyway? Come to that, where TF is Carlisle? Is it in Scotland? (Apologies o all our readers in Carlisle... fireproof suit now on.)

Maybe if you bought the ticket on a credit card they have insurance? Or whoever told you to go to Belfast then changed their mind might like to chip in? Or is it - ahem - social, domestic or pleasure...

The station is also famous for its, err, was it a homebase advert?

    Aaaaah, yes it was homebase

Facebook campaign loses fight to keep Homebase ad makeover at Carlisle station
Almost 8,000 members signed up in a bid to maintain vibrant paint scheme and garden creation at busy Citadel station.

Commuters loved their new plush surroundings.

A Facebook campaign, 'Help keep Carlisle station like this', lost its battle to maintain the railway station's Homebase makeover when the council repainted the building several days ago.

Homebase transformed the Citadel station last week as part of a new TV advert, covering its bridge with technicolour stripes and turning one platform into a garden area complete with plants and garden furniture.

Plush furniture, rugs and lamps also lined one platform, which had been decorated with turquoise paint and purple wallpaper. A kitchen was even installed at the station for the week-long shoot.

Locals were so impressed with the makeover, they were determined to keep it, leading student Eden Dunn to start the Facebook group, which drew 7,971 members.

However, shortly after filming finished at the weekend, the council restored the station, which is a listed building, to its former glory.

Homebase used more than 250m sq of wallpaper, 1,500m sq of flooring and 1,800 litres of paint to transform the station.

Sorry to hear about your friend Psycho. Motorbikes are wonderful things but you are also quite vulnerable on them. Much easier for the person on them than the people left behind.

I think I will mention I have bought tickets but he didn't tell me to buy tickets whereas he has told me to buy rail tickets to Carlisle! May just have to take it! £83 lost, against £320 earned! Likely to be working for him again at the end of April so need to keep him sweet even if he is like Alf Garnets slightly less tactful brother!

Carlisle has a castle, and a museum, and an ex-boyfriend. Way north of Carlisle has museums, art galleries and another ex-boyfriend.

Carlisle is about 45 minutes from my home town and where I spent most of my hard earned cash as a school girl. The have The Lanes for shopping and they did have Top Shop. It may have gone bust since I moved away and got too old for Top Shop clothes.

Those where the days when I was the richest I have ever been.

Big hugs to all of you who need or want one x
