  • The horrid thing about anti-depressants is that as well as filling in the bottom of the lows they also steal the pleasure in life....

I remember moaning to my doc about it... actually, I remember moaning about a lot of things... and crying. Lots. Fun isn't it!

Happy to say though, that 3 years on and I am living back on planet earth. The Black Dog is living at the local cats and dogs home, and only pops over to visit me every now and then.

Infact, now I am on the otherside, I think "it" taught me to deal with things before they get too difficult. I am very much a burier of issues, and put up with so much from so many. I took on people's "monkeys" (google it, but basically I took things (burdens, work) from others and never put them down, I carried them all), but now I listen and offer suggestions but I don't personalise things.

It really does get better. I promise. It just takes time and willpower (which is the hardest thing to find when you're in the middle of a horrid phase... ) The best thing I ever did was FORCE myself to go back to work... against the advice of the Doc and the Occ Health nurse, and the second best thing was to stop taking the pills, which were e/affecting every single thing i did - sleep, s!xlife, concentration, all sorts.

    Ramble over

But... you can beat it... send the pesky fleabag away :D

The side effects have all but dissapeared now, thank god. They were pretty horrific of the 13 "common" ones listed in the leaflet I got 11 . Still feeling somewhat low but not actually "depressed" iyswim...

The moving of stuff did me a great deal of good actually, it gave me something else to focus on, other than my issues although it did swallow up the vast majority of my time off and I burned a hell of a lot of petrol - I think the car is going to give up the ghost soon - but she's moved into a (relatively) clean flat in a good area with no mould or damp problems and I think that it is a VERY good move for her...

Before anyone runs off with the idea that I actually KNOW people with dirty, damp flats, she's a nice lady who had a really bastatious (bastaceous?) landlord.

And she might or might not be a bit of a hoarder...

    Evening all :D

For anyone interested in seeing and hearing more about Rodders I have set up a blog, but it isn't very interesting at the mo (lots of piddles and poops, bit of sleeping, some eating) and it is set as my home page.

Thought I should do that rather than bore everyone on here! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Very true indeed. Some of you lot have met her too at the big reveal etc.

I'm actually enjoying being back at work, but not actually enjoying work (if that makes sense) I'm technically in a meeting at the moment, but it ended after 35 minutes, so I'm free to get on with my own thing for a while. :)

So it is either Mike's sister, the lady that spoke on the show (this is who I a plumping for :D), or the lady with the dogs! See, I haven't lost my brainpower since I stopped working :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Glad you are enjoying being back at work Carflea, I think it helps to be around people and in a routine if you can. Also gives your brain something else to think about.

She did speak on the show, yes...

It doesn't really give me anything to think about, its braindead work.

Braindead work or not, the focus is on doing it properly and not on you IYSWIM. And it gives you a reason to get up, which gets you in to a routine of sorts. Shall I stop digging now? :rotfl:
