    Cheers Psycho :D

I suspect the black dog will be running round my feet for a while yet but I'm learning to ignore the little sod.

In other news, I'm giving up drinking and smoking too

Well, mine is only around because of my situation, given time and progress it'll have to find someone else to annoy.

Crikey, it's an invasion of the black dogs...how strange there are so many visits a this time of the year! Lots of (((((((hugs))))))) to all who have a visitor at the moment.

Admittedly I too tend to get a visit around this time of year. Talking to my therapist a few years ago, she suggested I possibly suffered from SAD, which often starts making an appearance September-time as the days start getting noticeably shorter. I got myself a light box at Xmas last year, so I should root it out and see if I can keep my own black dog at bay this year. Perhaps some of you can see if you can access a light box to see if it helps.

It seems that SAD encourages the black dog to lurk and stay for a bit. Monty Don, who suffers terribly from SAD and the black dog uses light therapy to ease his symptoms durig the winter months, so
perhaps there is something in it, worth a try I think.

    Take care everyone xxx

Keiss, thanks for that post. For years my ex MIL (now best friend - really) has been telling me that she thinks that I suffer from SAD. She knows me well. In truth my black dog is probably just a bit of a whippersnapper puppy and is not fully grown like some peoples so I have nothing to complain about. I know that I hate dark days and it makes it harder for me to deal with stuff. Hence me wanting to move to a lovely snowy place. The light there is amazing and cheers me up no end.

I've put some frosting film on some of the windows and every time i go into the room it's like that odd light you get the day it's snowed outside. It comes from below rather than above and is very diffuse.

I find it quite exciting. Makes me want to put my fleece on and run outside to play in it.

That sounds really exciting... except when you run outside in your fleece and there is no snow! :j

Go and splash in the puddles instead? Equally satisfying I find.... :rotfl:

Amazing how much mess a black dog can generate really... :o
