Mike, and the team of MSEr's that were there on the ground - THANK YOU - you have restored my faith in the human being. From that first post of Lisa's when "she" had lost of faith in anything or anyone to this. The most amazing home that you could imagine. I am sure that your Christmas surely was one to remember and that you go on to have very many more happy memories of a home that was built by DIY SOS, but that happened because of this forum. Mike and your boys I wish you everything that brings you peace and happiness. May we all meet one day, just sorry I wasn't there in person but you know I had you all in mind. A fantastic well done... right lets get this party rolling and uncork the champers.... xxxxxx

Christmas was the best I've ever had with the boys. And future ones look quite promising too. x

Bravo DIYSOS and Mike's Mob - not a dry eye in the house here. Hope you enjoyed watching the show yourself with a glass of bubbly and had a great first Christmas x

Thanks. We did, we did have, and we did.

Well, I am in Germany so couldnt watch the show (hoping it is on Iplayer when I get home) I have been thinking about Mike and his mob all day. Just came on to see how it went. Sounds to me like Kleenex will have done a good business.
Mike, hope that you are not too overwhelmed. Well done everybody for the posts and I feel like I should be crying but I will wait for that next week. One way or another I will get to see the show I have been waiting for.

Very proud to have the ability to share internet time with such wonderful people who can support others rather than just passing judgement. Thank you.

Very proud to know you too.

Always with the kitchen... the whole house is gorgeous, thanks to Julia and her little elves.

I think the original builder is a conman and a thief. Amongst other things. He will see this as having absolved him of any wrongdoing. I can hear him now... "Well, you got your house painted, what more do you want?"

    You'll see...

Be afraid Mr B, be VERY afraid.........

EDIT: oh. No such site. "Strangely disappointed"
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Sorry if this has been asked (but the previous threads are manhoosive!) but was there any progress with the old builder? Did Mike get any of his money back?

And more importantly has he been named and shamed several times over the years so that no one else ever hires him?

    Hi Loopygirl

    (you sound fun!)

All legal issues suspended until the programme was broadcast for various reasons. It ain't over by a long chalk.

Paul Bridle of Broadbridge Heath, Horsham, West Sussex has been named and shamed but might be out there taking deposits for a few jobs even now. Changes are needed. One step at a time...

Almost exactly, apart from the usual detritus of living. I don't think the DIY SOS people would want me to feel I was living in a showhome or a public building. In fact, they said so.

But being a bit of a compulsive cleaner has been a boon. Specially with strangers knocking on the door requesting the full tour...

And the not so strange :rotfl:

I must thank SouthernBelle who sent me a PM about tonight's DIY SOS. I did manage to watch it and thought of Mike and his boys and of MSE. This is the first time in months that I have been on the forum (too much time working on my business and not giving thought to anyone or anything else so apologies for that). Can I confess that I was a tad tearful and I am so pleased that everything turned out well.

Mike - your little house is amazing. :j

Just wanted to wish you, your boys and the MSE Mob a Very Happy New Year xx

Hi again! Thanks, happy 2011 to you too.
