Hi - I registered a long while ago and then found that even looking at posts about debts depressed me so I've not been back... and of course am still in debt!
I've just watched the DIY SOS show that I sky+ and when they talked about you all being forum members I just had to try and find you all! I've been lucky enough to make friends on another forum and the help I've had there has reduced me to tears on more than one occasion. Mike, you've inspired me to try and improve my lot. Your doggedness and your determination to provide a family home for your boys and not to give in or up was so touching. If you could carry on with all that falling about your ears - literally and metaphorically - then I'm sure I can do something about my troubles. Time to stop acting like an ostrich!
I hope you had the most fantastic Christmas and New Year and thanks for inspiring me to do something about my debts. January is going to be hard cos I'm a single parent with a 12 year old son and...well, need I say more about how hard that is at Christmas time even though I work two jobs, but I'm going to scour this site now and try and find a way to sort my life out.
I'm so happy for you Mike and hope that the friendships you've made in here are everlasting0 -
I just scraped some goo off my mouse's bottom and it's working much better now. Just stopping for a cup of tea. brb (as the young people say)0

Hi Mike,
First I would like to wish you and your lovely boys a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year:beer:! I have been following your story, but not posted much! I watched the programme on Thursday night and was absolutely thrilled for you all! Didn't they do a fantastic job in creating such a beautiful house from the dreadful ruin that it was? :TYou must be so happy to have such a weight lifted off your shoulders, and to have a warm cosy house for your family and friends to come visit! Congratulations to you and to all your wonderful online friends who have supported you all the way!
warm wishes

Just popped in to say i managed to finally watch the show- and blubbered all the way through it- a perfect start to the New Year.
Well done everyone on here definitely the power of the forums.
and to Mike - enjoy your new home, i know you have been in for a while now, but it must be surreal still.
I will be watching it again just to take it all in, totally amazing what they managed to achieve. Bob xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -

Worryingly, so did I. You see, they turned up and did what they were asked to...0 -
