Well done Hethmar! I totally know what you mean with the feeling of not hating looking in a mirror any more - isn't it brilliant? :D

I completely forget to check in after my last weigh in but it was a 1/2lb loss which I'm very pleased with as I was on holiday all last week and it was so much more difficult than usual to keep an eye on calories when I wasn't cooking my own food.

Sadly my scales died about 10 days ago so I bought new ones at the weekend. They weigh me as being 3 lbs heavier (when I should have lost ~2lbs+, no change to diet and exercise in the last few weeks when I've lost an average of 2.75lbs)! I double checked on my parents scales on the same surface and yep I think they are right... Looks like my last scales were inaccurate! :( I don't think I've put on weight as I needed to go a belt notch tighter this week and just about fit into my next size down jeans that were nowhere close a couple of weeks ago. *need roll eyes smiley here*

Therefore I am ignoring this "blip" for the purposes of this challenge... :o:p

  • Well done Hethmar! :T:j it must be amazing after so much perseverance to be so close to your goal! makes it all worthwhile! you should be so proud of yourself! :D

Taka That's rotten news about the scales, but like you say, it's likely just down to you changing scales, and "feeling" thinner, and being able to fit into smaller clothes etc, is a much better guage of how you're doing than numbers on the scale! So well done on the tightened belt! :T:D

Yesterday was day one for me, foodwise I did well, no nasty treats or snacks in there! I went out running though (only doing 3.5 miles of a walk/jog combo, and only actually started last week), and it was awful! I felt sick pretty quickly, and my legs were just not on my side at all! :(:o i was pretty embarassed, as the two girls I'm running with are much more experienced runners, and I really felt as though i was holding them back! I'll persevere though, planning on going to Zumba tonight, and running again tomorrow!

Hope you're all having a good day, and there's not too much temptation thrown your way! :)

    xx

    Hi all,

Fab to hear loads of positive attitudes on here for the start of the month!

Well done to you Hethmar-that's amazing! Those last 7lbs will be off in no time! :j

Well done to the other losers too. :D

Well I've lost another 2lbs in the first week of July. I had a bit of a plateau going on for a little while before this week but it looks like the weight's starting to really shift again, which is great news. So I'm now only 3lbs off my next target of a 3 stone loss, and people are really noticing the difference now, which really feels great when they comment!

Onwards and downwards everyone-keep up the good work! :D

    CG. x

Taka, isnt it great when you can actually discard one size of jeans for the next one down. Ive chucked out my size 16s. I had a few 18s but they went long ago. I now have some 14s but Ive had to take one pair back to M and S because they were too loose and I hadnt worn them. I got a voucher for them, so thats ok. Although it does depend on the makes. I noticed the posh frock stuff actually seems to be smaller than places like M and S and BHS. My BHS 14s are so loose now that OH tells me not to wear them in case they fall down.

CG, isnt it fab when you actually feel more energetic. Plus you can actually trot upstairs in shops rather than lumber up one at a time :) When you think about it, 3 stone is like permanently carrying a 5 year old round with you isnt it? Or a medium size dog :)

Haha yeah it is!! My 4 yr old is 2st 8.5 and I keep saying to my hubby, 'How did I carry our little one around with me for the past few years?! No wonder I was tired and fed up!!! :rotfl:

The weird thing for me is that although others are really noticing it on me, I can't really see it myself in the mirror that much somehow. Yesterday was my nieces' prom night and I got caught in a few of their photos and it's only then that I can see that I do look really very different now. Maybe not noticing the difference has something to do with the fact that I've avoided mirrors for years so I don't know what I looked like before anyway! :o:rotfl:

The other thing CG is you probably arent wearing clothes that enhance your figure yet. Ive still being wearing baggy jumpers and trousers as Im used to covering up. When I tried those trousers and dress on at the weekend I couldnt believe that I actually have a waist now. In fact one woman (another middle aged lady) who was trying on stuff said to me, "how have you kept an hour glass figure like that/" :)

You may want to check out some new clothes.
