Regular Payments off a Credit Card Discussion

  • Anyone know anything about Endsleigh Insurance - do they do regular payments?

I'm a bit worried as last year I took out a policy for contents cover (one room, rented accommodation) and paid the balance as a one-off credit card payment. Will they send me a reminder and give me the opportunity to cancel / not send me a reminder and not take any money / not send a reminder and take the money automatically?

I have checked the T & C's and can find no confirmation that they either do or don't use regular payments.

I'm trying to cancel this credit card at the mo so I really hope they don't!

Does anyone have any experience with them?

    Thanks!

From what I know about Endsleigh, they take the one-off and then don't take it again unless your contract lasts longer, or it doesn't need renewing. Either way, if you contact them and tell them the card no longer exists, they should be fine!

  • I emailed Endsleigh just to check, and they emailed me back and rang me to confirm that they don't use regular payments. Glad my mind's at rest :j

if they want you to get a secured loan (with your house up for grabs if you default) tell em to stick it.

only consider it if its another credit card with more favourable terms than you currently have

As far as what I have experienced before direct debit of payment is not a good idea. From what I have encountered they already charged me of my internet bill and then I received a noticed that I have a balance of a certain amount. I call the customer service and ask about the issue. They told me that the payment was not posted that is why I received the notice. It really gives me a headache.

Obvious advice would be to clear the non-0% cards if you don't already clear them each month, bank the money you have, spend as little as possible, make the minimum payments while the rate is 0%, clear the other cards just before their 0% deals expire, hopefully get another job before then?

Anything else you need to know?
