New attacks on I.B claimants

"the government wants to ensure that help goes to those who truly need it - and if you truly need it then you will get it,"
I've lifted this from an earlier post - apologies for not fully quoting. I have quoted it because I think it's very scary that people still believe this to be the truth.
Firstly, that the Government is truly interested in ensuring help goes to those who truly need it - rather than simply getting as many people (scroungers or genuine - who cares) off the welfare bill.
Secondly, that if you are truly in need, you will get benefit. These forums are FULL of people claiming ATOS staff get bonuses for getting people off benefit, that ATOS staff are inadequately trained to make medical assessments about complex conditions, and that ATOS often blatantly lie about and misrepresent what claimants have said during their interviews.
Very scary stuff if you are a genuine claimant.0 -

I am aware of this - I do have a friend who was in this situation.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I'm not worried about being found fit for work if I actually am it's being found fit for work when i'm not.
Being put on JSA & signing on every week will be impossible for me even as someone would have to accompany me as I can't go out alone.
I won't be able to fulfill the terms of JSA regarding signing on let alone going for job interviews so won't get any money to live on.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

I don't think that there needs to be a tripling of medicals. If someone has failed a medical and is declared unfit for work, then it's becuase they either are, or because they are capapble enough of blagging the right blurb to the assessors and doctors.
If fraud is the perceived problem here, then why not just triple the number of undercover investigating officers.
That gets to the route of the problem without stressing genuine claimants with letters about extra medicals.
I'm sure they are doing this anyway."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

Hopefully the government will consider re-employing the many thousand fraudsters found as fit to work, as assessors, so they can use their personal knowledge and experience to identify the various scams ; ) job for life. Well done DC, let the whinging begin.0

Both are money for nothing.
Granted one of them you have to "actively seek work". That's easy to flannel anyway. Just send blank sheets of paper to potential employers and get proofs of posting to show at your "review" - or deliberately fudge an interview by saying how unwell you are.
No employer will have you if you say at an interview "Hi! My name is Guertrude and I have had Bi-Polar for 20 years".
Money for nothing not true in the case of people who have worked all their lives and then found themselves injured/ill through no fault of their own is it?having paid taxes and national insurance surely they entitled to get some back..That not money for nothing!!! IS IT?Loyal to those deserving!!.0 -

Which is unfortunately another reason those of us disabled since early adulthood get discriminated against.I wish I had been able to be a taxpayer for as long as other people, but am out of luck on that.
