Fobbed off is the best way to describe this.
Having it with CID and them actually bringing charges (which they would only do with the nod from the CPS after they have reviewed the evidence) is miles away from actually getting a conviction.
I suspect you will get a letter in a few weeks saying there is insufficient evidence to proceed.
I could be wrong but I bet I am not!! There is simply not the will to proceed with stuff like this they only like going after the dead certs.
Look at the amount of public money those members of the Lords scammed!! They got away with it didn't they!!0 -
They were a little vague on the actual risk factor, but I definately got the impression that I would be in the money. Should I go to the police or is this more something for the FOS.
The people I spoke to made claims over the telephone for what they had already done. These claims were obviously untrue, but when I tried to get them to repeat them in writing they back-tracked. I guess by then they had smelled a rat. Shame, really. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I would suspect that no serious offence has been commited. The "victims" have just made a very poor investment.0

I am also an investor having made various investments over the last 4 years. I have also visited the offices & met directors & they gave a good impression & also am surprised that they are no longer contactable. Exchange of contracts was supposed to have taken place last Friday & if this did not happen then it is possible that the company ran out of cash & had to cease trading. They have been trying to sell the property for some time to various developers & this latest appears was the last straw. I will try to find out if the interests of investors is registered on the land & will report back.0

Browne Mackenzie have quite clearly legged it, with countless amounts of money by falsifying claims of investment return. Please can all the legitimate parties involved in this scam please report this to your local police..... The local police will then hand the case over to the Met Police to action. The bank account that BM used can be traced and hopefully these crooks will be brought to justice.......
Please can all those people inputting messages onto this site who have nothing constructive to say, maybe try a dating site!!!! This is a serious matter.0 -
Greedy people trying to ruin our lovely village by speculating on surrounding green belt agricultural land is also a serious matter. I am happily married and don't need to try a dating site. If you don't want members of the public to comment on your greed and gullibility, don't post on a public forum. You tried to ruin my quality of life in the pursuit of easy money and got exactly what you deserved...nothing.sduffield76 wrote: »Please can all those people inputting messages onto this site who have nothing constructive to say, maybe try a dating site!!!! Are you sure this is the way to proceed? I can visualise numerous separate reports being passed on and never being connected into a single thread. Is there no central body to which we can all submit our details (a financial regulator?) who may then help us to investigate what has actually happened before we assume a crime has been committed?0 -
I have created a Google group for those of us who want to move our discussions somewhere a bit more private. I request that only current investors with the Browne Mackenzie Group apply to join.
Unfortunately, as a new user to this site, I'm not able to post a direct link here and I'm also not able to test how those not registered might actually find the group - this is the first I've created!
If you find Google Groups and then search for 'BMG-way-ahead' I hope you'll be able to join. I think you'll also have to create a google account if you don't already have one.0
