Hi all, myself and my family are also involved in this so called scam!!!. I had a conversation with a broker on Monday of this week and was told that the land had been sold and would hear something today. By chance I decided to call them today the phone number was dead..... I then looked at the web sight which again was no longer!!!! My Father is going to report this to the police in the morning as I believe this is fraud... I will keep you posted on what happens next as we may need to stick together if we are looking at getting any return on our money.0

If you have title to the land, I fail to see where the fraud is.0

The land was ment to be sold for more than what we paid for it ,so we would have made a profit. They said to my husband he would have gotten his money back last week.
Well we are talking to someone from CID in the morning.
> And yes are being told it is FRAUD.Becouse we have spoken to the FRAUD people about it.And all of u need to do the same0 -
ILW please expand.... How can someone take thousands of pounds of money, portraying themselves as brokers and therefore supposedly acting on investers behalf...and then drop off the face of the earth with no explanation. This is fraudulant behaviour, it cannot be denied.0

Do you say "Yes" and hand over thousands of pounds any time someone cold calls you, without doing any research, without consulting a solicitor/sane minded person, to buy a piece of land you know absolutely nothing about and have never seen?
"Do you want to buy some land?"
"No."
"If you do you'll probably be able to sell it for more in a few years."
"Okay. I'll buy it."
"kthx, just send us the money."
"No problem. God, this seems too good to be true!!"

I could sit on my bum every week and various banks would still pay me for lending them my money. While I wouldn't describe it as 'a lot' it was running at £19k a year during part of 2009. Does that make me a deserving victim for your natural justice?Certain natural justice though, the only people that get scammed are the ones that expect to get a lot of money by doing nothing.
Agreed. Older or less able people might be unable to see through a slick presentation. Someone quite close to me, a successful and astute businessman, was taken in by one of the pot-boiling scams. He still laughs about it, but he's retained enough money to see the funny side.Don't forget that people saved up the money they put into this. So, they worked hard in the first place. Most frauds/scams/swindles depend on the victims' trusting nature. I think it's wrong that some people here have been less than sympathetic.
That's the one question no one here seems to be responding to clearly. What paperwork is there and what entitlement does it grant them?If you have title to the land, I fail to see where the fraud is.0 -
Do the people claiming they have been defrauded actually own the land they have paid for?
If they do, there is little chance of there being any fraud.
If the sellers just ran off with the money and they did not get title to the land, then there should be a case.0 -

Again i have to ask, did these people get the land they paid for?0
