certainly the card to go for even if you don't support Fulham FC
I don't think I will apply for any more Sygma cards - I see them going the same way as that other Brummie affinity credit card companyHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
This company is becoming a bit of a joke for me tbh, I got a My World CC 3 months ago for the 0% balance transfer offer. Every month I have had to call them and get them to reverse charges, the first month it was interest charged, granted they reversed it instantly but you would of thought they might correct the error so it does not happen again.
The next month for some random reason they charged my card with £300 and then reversed it instantly but it had put me over the limit so they whacked on a £12 over limit fee which they never reversed so I had to chase them about that.
I have just checked my account for this month and they have charged me interest on my balance again  I am trying to get it reversed now but this is insane. Only 3 months and I will be closing this card down what a nightmare.
Anyway I just fancied a rant sorry hope everyone else is enjoying their cards :rotfl:Debt Free...yay! 10/09/2013 :j

Hi this is my first post but ive been lurking for a long time here and gaining some valuable info from yous all. Thanks
First of all a little about my past.
I used to be very imature regarding my finances in the past (taking out car finance and not being able to pay etc) this wrecked my credit report for a long time,
eventually however i got a capital one card with a £500 limit and an Aqua card with £300 ok not much but it got me on the road to recovery.
4 months ago i applied and got accepted for a sygma silver card with £1000 and 24% APR which is not great but better than before. I just applied for the increase after 3 months which i recieved, now ive just applied and got accepted for the flybe card with the same limit and APR.
My ambition if thats what it is, is to get onto the prime market not just for the limits but for the low APR.
Sorry for the rant guys just wanted to introduce myself first.
Ok my question
To get onto the prime market and help my credit rating do i keep my aqua and capital one cards which are both about 5 years old (both have balances but i can do a balance transfer from my new flybe card)
Or do i keep them? i initially thought it would be good to get rid of them as my credit file will show up too many cards, and with low limits will the future checkers not see that because i had subprime cards i am a risk?
I certainly will not be planning to use them in the future due to the silly APR's on them.
Thanks for reading and looking forward to your feedback.0 -

Sygma credit check equifax while doing applications, have you checked your experian report recently if so is there anything negative on the report?0 -
Thanks for your prompt reply,
Im sorry im not sure what you mean as i have been accepted for both sygma credit cards, getting them wasnt a problem.
I was asking if it would be better to cancel my old subprime cards thats all.
Also my report is fine on all 3 apart from a missed credit card and mortgage payment years ago.
Thanks again0 -

Barclays also search equifax.
Experian being lenders preferred agency0 -
Hi Star,
Thanks for your reply
Im sry guys my use of wording is a lot to be desired as im getting mixed up.
Ok i will simplify it
I have 2 subprime cards which are about 5 years old.
I recently got onto the almost prime market by getting to cards from sygma.
It will be a long time before i apply for any prime cards as i want to build a good relationsip with sygma and also use the 4 monthly increases to get to a good limit so i can tackle the prime market.
Should i cancel my old SUB PRIME cards with rubbish limits and APR's i use all 3 credit references regulary
Will canceling the old cards help for the FUTURE if i decide to move onto the prime market?
Because if i was a lender and i seen subprime cards in a credit file no matter how long they have been used, I would be hesitant in giving a decent size limit eg £5000 with a good APR whereas if i seen only 2 sygma cards with 1-2k limits with no missed payments running for say 1-2 years with no min payments, I would be more inclined to offer this person a good deal.
I repeat i have no plans right now to apply for any more as 2 in 1 year is enough but should i cancel the subprimes now so when i do apply the subprimes would have dropped off my report (7 years ive had them for about 5 years)0 -

CRA's would not see if them cards are sub-prime or not they would just see credit accounts.
When applying for credit, lenders like to use a formula called debt-to-credit ratio and this needs to be under 30% to get maximum score with them,so keep your cards and make sure when you do eventually apply your balance is less then half of your credit limit.
Example credit limit on all cards 1k balance £300 debt to credit ratio 30%.
You having them cards for the last 5 years don't you think now your credit report is good enough to move up a level?0
