Who agrees with me that all the credit cards people have had now or in the past including customer services, that sygma cards are got to be up there with the best..

No I've found the service to be dire.

The silver card 0% promotion didn't turn out to be interest free, I was lied to about them having resolved the issue and lo 0% offer again incurred interest which resulted in overlimit fee in April. In all, took two months to resolve. Repeatedly lied to about having been resolved.

My World card came also with 0% six months but the agents refused to honour it and I had to wait nearly a month for a back office team to process a manual transfer.

More recently I ordered replacement cards (6th July) - again was lied to about new cards having been sent out. Neither account had a new card issued despite the agent noting the accounts on the 6th to say she would issue new cards.

Spoke to a team manager last on Saturday and called again on Monday to make sure that the team manager had actually issued the new cards - she had on the silver account but not the My World account.

Absolute lies and incompetence is all I've had to greet me when I call them. I only take it because I can't get credit elsewhere.

They are somewhat friendly though, I'll give them that!

My friend found their underwriting team to be dire also, he had applied for a silver card and I spoke to an underwriter about his applicaiton on his behalf and they had declined his application because the Vanquis credit card he holds only shows three months repayment history despite having been open three years (he had to order a new card). The account shows a start date of 2007 but the underwriter refused to believe he had held the card for this long due to all of the previous credit history for his Vanquis card showing up on another credit account on his file - this is how Vanquis do things when they issue a replacement card.

This might however be a Vanquis failure rather than a Sygma one so he's raised a complaint with the ICO about it.

Lol fair enough,TBH i thought this might happen sooner or later everyone keep praising sygma up and then something goes wrong, touch wood everything seems alright with my card at the moment..
  • i have a creation card but didnt realise that sygma did a whole load of different cards until i saw this thread, i applied for the silver card online and was accepted straight away to my surprise. i have a pretty good credit report but there are some things i can never seem to get, an argos card being one thing! anyway, i was accepted and it just gave me a refernce number thingy and said i will recieve pin in the post.

i dont get how some things i can just get and some i cant, ive tried every year for an argos card as i do love a good argos sale lol, but every year im refused. also been refused for vanquis in the past so i dont try them anymore. the only bad credit i have is about 4 years old and is just something stupid, everything else is spot on and up to date. i guess some companys just dont like me lol

By the sounds of it your equifax report is a lot better than your experian credit report,as vanquis & argos store card both use experian...

thanks i didnt realise that, i only have a couple of unsorted debts from when i was young and stupid :(

maybe they are not on both reports then, as it does seem a bit odd, as i have a good report other than those few things.
  • do sygma use experian too ? as they seem happy with me.

Sygma are the only credit card company left to exclusively use Equifax. Barclaycard mostly stick to Equifax (they always have with me) but other people have had Barclaycard search Experian, too.

All the others search Experian (or both) as a matter of course :o

  • barclaycard were a nightmare for me, they offered me a card when i went in last year to cancel some direct debits and change over some stuff to my other account, i didnt go there for anything to do with getting a credit card, they offered me one and i thought why not, they gave me one, i used it and paid it off, used it again and paid it off again in full, i then got a letter saying i no longer met their critera and they were cancelling the card!

i thought i was being sensible by clearing the balance but they didnt seem to like that, so in the end they took it back after only 4 months, which i found a bit odd but i never did get a full explanation as to why they did that.
