My 5 pound monthly cashback at Halifax is pretaxed at 20% rate for sure.

I didn't even know that was possible!

Bloody hell!! Hope it's not a decline!!!
If so will send a detailed appeal, pictures, dimensions etc and if necessary will drive to head office in Leeds to plead my case.
In the meantime I'm off to bed to dream about cruising down the M621 with a 'hottie' sat on the backseat of my coach, waiting, hoping and munching seductively on a bar of Galaxy :p;):p

Just remember that Barclays will always send you the form to sign thinking that you're already been accepted but they can still decline your application once they've received the form....

In my case they opened up a standard current account, and two weeks later, after I'd had my direct debits, standing orders, and salary mandates set up, chequebook, pin, and debit card in hand, wrote to me saying "actually, we're closing that account in 14 days time. And you cash card. And your savings. And don't bother trying to come back".No, no CIFAS or fraud of any kind. Just an insanely slow deline process. Somewhat like the Natwest / RBS Application Verification Unit but much much much slower off the bat.Awful bank. Be careful!
