Ok guys, got a question. Every time I have applied for a credit card my application has been referred (all except Capital one, auto accept). Now, I am self employed and have been for the past 11 years. Is this the reason I always get referred?? Everything else is fine.0

NO if your credit report is good/excellent it will not normally be referred,if its a bit like a dogs dinner it would.0 -
I can guarantee you Star-Fire my credit report is not 'A Dogs Dinner'. It is all 'hunky dory'. There are no bad marks on my file.0

I was saying in general, what card have you had referred?
Also its very unusual for someone with a hunky dory credit report to ask a question on a sub-prime thread if you get my drift:D0 -
Fully understand the question.
I have been self employed for the last 11 years working all my life within the licensed trade. As such I have not been on the electoral role for years and years and until recently all financial obligation/business finances were all in my wife's name. Having had a a slight career change we got a house (rented), I went on electoral roll, got my own current account applied for a Cap One card (auto accept), applied for Aqua (referred - accepted), Barclaycard Initial (referred - declined). Aqua and Barclaycard were both referred....why, as Cap One 'auto accepted'. It just seems strange that's all. Can I also just point out that the Barclaycard Initial was the first card I applied for.
Basically I've had to start from scratch as I, personally, had no credit history!!!
Hope this makes sense.0 -

There you have it. Lack of credit history is a major problem (so your credit file won't be 'hunky dory'), lenders won't know whether you are a safe bet. When your application is referred, that means the computer cannot make a decision due to the lack of information and must pass it to a human to decide your fate. We’ve had to remove your signature.
