Do you actually have an o/d or not yet? From that screen shot I think it means you are a new customer without a behaviour score that never qualified for an o/d when you opened account and as such you must wait 6mth before applying..... Now tell me i'm wrong and ruin my theory lol :rotfl:
Hi Guys
Thats interesting cos I only opened my account on the 09/04/2010 and when I log in to my online banking and click on overdrafts it gives me the Page 1 of 4 and it asks me to put in my overdraft request in multiples of £50 to a maximum £5000?
Is it worth sending a secure message saying "When would I be eligible to apply for a overdraft" to see if it is 2 months, 3 months or 6?0 -
:j
I'd love to be the bearer of bad new but unfortunately it is because i have only recently opened account.
I have been told that i can apply after 2months in branch with a credit check or 6 without.
Just rang them up and they said mine is missing because it's new account.
Niddy your spot on, it is 6 months and phone up they add one and then the link will appear, sometimes, it appears sooner.
I bow down to your knowledge!! :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Hi All,
It's been a while since I posted in here, in fact the last time I did was when I had a monument card before they went belly up.
I know it sounds daft but for a laugh I decided to try for cap one, even though I've been turned down by them a couple of times in the past as I figured that thanks to a twit at the carphone warehouse searching every which way he could think of to get me a contract, it wouldn't hurt to do one more search on my file.
I've gotten a message though that I never got before:
Congratulations, E

Does this mean that I finally got accepted? by a provider that had to stoop to spit on me before?
Dont bank on it, I had the same message was credit searched on Equifax & Experian and a day later had unrecorded searches and was declined...I'd wait til you get the Pin then celebrate your £100 credit limit...
Capital One declined me yet I applied for the Barclaycard Initial at the same time and they accepted me with a £400 limit...3 months later thanks to this site I applied for the Flybe card £2000 limit....then 3 months after that applied for the Silver card £1000 limit.
Good Luck0 -
Thankyou for the help!
That's what I figured! It was just a surprise to see the word congratulations rather than 'we'll think about it, laugh for a couple of days at you and then say no in writing.'
I'll update if the pin and card actually shows upDFD: 2017  | Savings: £1

Reason yours looks like that (same as mine did) is because you were allowed one when you were accepted for the account, but you never took it out did you?
I did, I took £500 on a/c 1 and £200 on a/c 2.....2010 - year of the troll

Hi people,
Just wondering do any of the banks that offer basic accounts upgrade to proper current accounts based on account conduct alone or do they all review your credit file first? Is any bank 'more generous' with there tolerance towards sub primeoids like myself with a 4 yr old ccj?
I have a nat pest, barclays and co-op basic accounts all used for different reasons. Barclays is my main account but they dont seem to want to upgrade me even though they said my account is run well. Would it be worth switching where my pay goes too?
Thanks
Matt there is one bank which upgrades still. That's Abbey. It's quite a long process. Try opening an Instant Plus account, it makes the route shorter.
I had an Abbey Basic account. After 6 months they upgraded me to a Instant Plus with a Visa Electron, 3 months later they upgraded it again to an Abbey account. To qualify for a Visa Debit you have to credit £500 PCM.
Though out this process I had NO credit searches undertaken, it was based on internal scoring only!!
