You'd choose to have a Santander backed account than an HSBC backed account? Really?

Don't want to sound cocky here but you really need to read more on these forums if you think that's a good choice!

That brings a question to mind.

I'm with A&L for my account (a Premier Direct account, so therefore a Prime account) and joint account (also Premier, with £200 overdraft limit). I'm aware of the problems with Santander so looked at an HSBC account to which they flat out declined.

Their standard refusal text mentioned it was down to my file or the file of someone financially linked with me.

The question being this: the HSBC search shows on my file, but there is no record of a financial associate search on my partner's file. Does this mean they didn't search his file in relation to my application?

Also, does Equifax report financial associate searches like Experian do? A Table 2 search perhaps?

I'll be stuck with A&L for a few more months now as I can't make any more searches for a while as I am now up to 4 in the current 6 month period.

Yeah your OH would've seen an "associate" search in Table 2 of their EQ file if they were financially linked and searched by HSBC.

If not then the decision was down to your file alone :o

    That's what I thunked :p

I think come the end of the year I'll be able to do 1 search for an HBSC account and 1 search for a Sygma card and hopefully will be accepted for both and then I can ditch Vanquis, Cap One and A&L for a happy 2011.

I'll also be ditching my Orange contract in Nov in favour of a £10 a month SIM only contract with either o2 or Voda as I don't need a £35 contract as I hardly use my phone (I only took it for the free xBox Elite lol).

Interesting, got bored last week and applied for a Capital One progress card, was accepted instantly online even though I closed my Class Visa only back in Feb this year.

Rang up and was told even though accepted has gone to underwriting and will hear in 7-10 days if accepted?

Anyway, a pin number landed on my door mat yesterday for a capital one card, so I phoned them up and asked about the card and limit, I was told that it was a World Mastercard with £100 limit?
